So at boarding schools (especially Andover and Exeter) what are the popular girls like? Like what should I do to fit in?
The answer is always be yourself. You don’t want to pretend to be someone you are not so people think you are “cool”.
Well I didn’t mean it like that, I mostly mean what is the culture like and what is the norm there
The “norm” is that girls are being themselves. As far as the culture, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. In general, there is a wide mix, but the answer depends, in part, on the school.
From what I’ve heard it seems to be a very friendly environment and as users above have suggested everyone is focused on being the best version of themselves they can be. All you can do is stay true to who you are and make friends, fitting in is not valuable enough if you are changing yourself for it.
@missinghome21 Is completely right “everyone is focused on being the best version of themselves they can be.”
As far as the culture goes, I’m sure (no matter what) you will have your rich and somewhat stuck up girls, as this is somewhat unavoidable. But those girls will STILL be nice to everyone. Nobody is getting into Andover or Exeter with a mentality that they are better than everyone else and that they are above their peers. Also, BS is big on diversity. So as one may imagine, the culture is, indeed, diverse!
Every year at PEA- there is a group that gets dubbed “Prep posse”. To most preps they seem like the cool crowd. Without fail, the kids go on to regret being associated with the group as they advance in age and maturity or they peak prep year and miss it.
