possible to switch schools when deferred?

i got deferred early when i applied to arts and sciences. a few of my friends with lower stats than me applied to engineering school and got in, so i was thinking if it was possible if i could switch schools (from arts and sciences to engineering) for when regular decision deadlines come around.

you should probably call the admissions office next week and talk to them about that. good luck though.

Not a good idea.

you need to ask yourself if YOU WANT to do engineering…it is NOT an easy ride, as just because they got in with lower stats, MUCH more is expected of you in engineering, and you’d have to stay in for atleast a year, and transferring to A&S ive heard is not just filling out a form or two

hmm, that actually seems like a good idea

-do u think we can make a new account for u.va.??, would they know?

Except they don’t get in with lower stats…

Don’t even think about trying it.

Just because a few of your friends were accepted into the E-school does not mean it’s easier to be accepted into. Were those students strong math students or showed a passion for math/engineering?

The average SAT-M is much higher (40pt difference) and the average SAT-V is only slightly lower (10pt difference) for the E-school, compared to CAS.

And looking at the numbers, the average rank for E-school admits is slightly higher than CAS (but very close).
