<p>Scheduled blood donation for Thursday, but mother refuses to drive the death trap (real car will be picking up my sister from college) to get me there. I could walk there, but it’s a really bad idea to walk back.</p>

<p>My excuse used to be, I’m too young. Luckily once I hit the required age, they changed the height and weight requirements. Now I’m too light <em>and</em> too short. Not that I’m either light or short by any sensible measurements…</p>

<p>I was volunteering for an event, and one of my tasks was to hand out pamphlets that asked individuals to donate their blood. One of the most common excuses that I received was, “I need mine.”</p>
