They asked me about the series. Honestly I took one look at the book one day in a store. I wanted to vomit.

You know what MIThopeful16 you can just go die. Death by vampire. How would you like that? Seriously though, Twilight is the best. IMO it follows closely, very closely, Harry Potter for best book series ever.

My condolences. I hope you are somehow comforted through these times.

I’m sorry, please. No.

LOTR >>>>>> Harry Potter >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Dirt >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Whale Poop >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Twilight.

I sincerely hope you’re joking on all counts. Your position, if not sarcastic, reveals very little exposure to the seminal works of world literature.

I’m back:]! (And you guys are back:P!)

Haha, my mom loves Twilight too! (It’s about the only book/movie that we sort of like in common.)

twilight really isn’t that bad. Nowhere near LOTR or Harry Potter, of course, but it was a fine read for when I was bored. the movies sucked balls though. Just putting that out there.

and now, my favorite poem [i liked my paper on it the best, even though it didn’t garner my highest grade of the year in English class]:

Ulysses

*It little profits that an idle king1,
By this still hearth, among these barren crags,
Matched with an ag

^^I’m glad!

My parents are fond of the movies as well.

Love that poem. Lord of the Rings is my favorite book series. :D

^^haha, thanks :P!

^I also loved the way Bilbo was singing those verses in the movie.

vvv that’s because they’re meant to be beach reads, not classics.

So… should I sleep now?

I almost posted something about philosophy, but then noticed what was being discussed…

Honestly the books to me were written subpar.

Ooh, I got the Silmarillion from the library.

Read two pages and it looks amazing. :D

^It was!

Is it possible to not have any random thought at a given moment?

@calico-Anything’s possible!
@mithopeful - I completely agree! it was like adult material written in the writing style of a fourth grader.

By the way, I’m not a ■■■■■/board stalker, I just got a new username. :)

I couldn’t finish the Silmarillion. I just didn’t find it very interesting.

^ Watch out.

Doesn’t she give stupid euphemisms for sex in the books? Like, never say sex but say ‘making love’ or something equally stupid?

^Granted, it’s more like a history book than it is a textbook. Once you do get into it though (supposedly), it really explains Middle Earth and a lot of the references in LotR/The Hobbit.

Wait. Are we talking about the Silmarillion (I have no idea what that is) or the Twilight series? Because yes, I’m pretty sure she did do that…or if not some equally annoying language stuff was going on. I was serious about it being written at a really low level! It’s not a terrible story, just the writing isn’t great and the characters have no depth - other than that it’s okay. (Hahaa…contradictions much?)

My first comment was Twilight, my second was the Silmarillion, which is a JRR Tolkien book.
