Postponing an audition due to illness

Daughter has an audition tomorrow and is sick. It looks like if she postpones, she won’t be able to get back in to audition until February. School has not let her know yet if she is accepted, but acceptance is supposed to be separate from theatre major admission.

If she postpones, do you think that it affects her admission into the major? (I know everyone would be guessing here, but wondering what you all think.)

How often do you think the audition actually has an impact on admission to the college if you get it done prior to them letting you know if your are admitted? In other words, if you do a good job, can it be a help?

Thanks for any input!

If she feels that she won’t be able to showcase herself during the audition, I’d say postpone it. BUT make sure you let them know! Don’t just be a no-show, because then it looks like you are wasting there time. Or, if there is the option, call tomorrow and ask their opinion (I don’t know where the audition is or at what time, so that might not be possible).

It depends entirely on the school. What school is she auditioning for? Someone here might know some specifics for it.
