Gerardi to me seems an enigma. I don’t see consistency in his approach, but maybe some of that is dictated by the folks “upstairs”. Additionally, he’s pulled a number of bone headed situational maneuvers. I would hate to lose any of the current coaching staff if/when his contract is not renewed.

I have every sympathy for you long suffering Cubs fans. I was hoping Lou might have delivered.

Yeah, surprised but happy that the Twins still can’t beat the Yankees in the post season. Last night’s game was way cool. Phil Hughes might be turning into an actual pitcher…his composure was pretty remarkable.

I wondered about the newcasters here when they talked about Girardi and the interview, but then I also wondered why an extension hadn’t been already offered to Joe. Perhaps it has something to do with the GS passing, but I think normally when a manager is wanted, an extension is offered earlier than September.

Re:Lou,

I think he was not “with” the team for a lot of the season due to family. He was there, but not “there”. Quade did wonders after he left.

Girardi was passed over the year Lou was hired. So was Sandberg. Different owners now, but same GM. I think hell will continue. I have not been to a game since an idiot poured beer on Shane Victorino in Agust '09.

Caught the tail end of it. Yikes! I jinxed my Rangers. Tuned in right in time to see them lose!

Looked like Lance wasn’t playing for the Yankees last night. I must say, I am thrilled to see Kerry Wood again. Big fan of the Cubs when he and Prior were around, and still love Big Z!

Will miss both games tonight, but rooting for them all.

With CC Sabathia on the mound, though, I was pretty impressed that the Rangers did as well as they did.

Well, I’m a Rangers fan and still really proud of the team. What last night showed is that you can’t make a single mistake against the Yankees. i feel like we gift-wrapped it for them in the end.

Today’s another day, and I would be shocked if the Yankees swept us.

And I have to add that CJ Wilson is babealicious.

Well, I got home in time for the 8th inning.
As a Yankee fan, it was perfect timing.
I’m glad that the team can still win even when their ace has a very un-ace-like night.

Brett Gardner’s head first slide into first surely ignited things.

ALMOST feel bad for the Ranger’s starting pitcher. What a waste of a great performance.

Watching Texas/Yankees, Lee/Pettite match up. So far, Texas is up. Why are the Yankees not playing Lance Berkman? Without Lance, they deserve to lose.

Go Rangers!

Dang it, Yankees just got a hit! Got to turn off the game before I jinx it!

Lee is an amazing pitcher. Andy Pettite pitched great but one mistake and it looks like Texas will pull out the win. Arggghh.

DS called us last night and said he had picked up a $100!! bleacher ticket to tonite’s game. He is the reason I began watching the Yankees back in 1995.
I’m sure he is having a blast not matter the score.

I’m going to laugh if Burnett will be the one to shut down the Rangers.

We have a bunch of yankee’s fans at work and I have been saying for the past week that I don’t know if they have the pitching to win it. It all depends if the Rangers can stop the yankees from scoring more then they will give up.

The phils and giants both have their work cut out for them, both teams have great pitching. it’s just a matter of which teams hitters cause the other teams pitching to bend the most.

I only got to see the last two innings last night, but, wow, that was the best part for me! Lee is amazing; he’s like Michael Jordan on the mound.

Can someone explain why AJ Burnett inspires such fear in Yankee fans? I gather he’s erratic? My ds really thought they’d put cc back in to shift the momentum.
