What a game. Remember, the Rangers haven’t lost two in a row since August.

Wow. Even though I have no rooting interest, what a great game. It reminded me of the Game 6’s in 1975 and 1986. If Texas ends up losing this World Series, their fans will remember this forever. Kind of like I’ll remember the 9th inning of Game 7 of the 2001 World Series forever, as a Yankees fan.

And nobody said anything at the time, but on the replay it kind of looked to me like Nelson Cruz could have caught that ball with two outs in the 9th.

I agree, Donna. I think he misplayed it, though it wasn’t scored an error. But both teams commited so many errors that it’s not like anyone can point to that one as the fatal blow.

The Cardinals haven’t lost with their backs against the wall in quite some time either… They’ve found a way to get it done when everybody counted them out.

Cruz could have easily had that, but that’s baseball. Gotta hand it to Freese though, what a legend. By far the best world series game in nearly a decade. Amazing. The cards had every bench player playing, they didn’t lay down and put it all out on the field. That’s what happens.

alwaysamom,

Once again I couldn’t stay up for the end. I went to bed with Texas ahead 6-4. Since I don’t work tomorrow, I will stay up tonight until it’s over and I will be happy for whichever team wins, but a little happier if it’s the Cards.

That was the most exciting Game 6 of a World Series that I’ve seen since Game 6 of 1993 when the Blue Jays beat the Phillies with Joe Carter’s walkoff homerun in the bottom of the ninth. And I was at that game!

I’m so glad I decided to stay up last night. It was worth being tired this morning.

After my team (Red Sox) collapsed, I decided not to watch baseball until next season. However, my H (huge baseball fan, Red Sox season ticket holder, etc.) was watching last night and I got sucked in–last night’s game was really exciting. I’m looking forward to the game tonight.

We are seeing why these teams beat the storied franchises to reach the World Series. I hope tonight’s game doesn’t last 4 1/2 hours!

Too bad kids didn’t get to see the late innings last night. No school or work tomorrow. As a Red Sox fan I’m rooting for the team in red.

What a series! Can’t believe it!

Congratulations to the St Louis Cardinals!

Too bad there had to be only one winner because both teams played beautifully.

A World Series for the ages!

The team in red won.

Kept thinking the Rangers would come back, the way they had so many times…

Carpenter pitched beautifully. HIs performance ALMOST makes me forget the horrendous defense his team displayed in the previous game.

Oh well, that’s baseball. St.Louis did prove themselves the best team.

Bromfield- do you realize that the Red Sox’s and Cardinal’s had the same regular season record.

Go Cards!!!

Great series!!! Cardinals are a tenacious team (they last proved it to me in 2006, knocking the Mets out of the NLCS in game 7).

Speaking of World Series game 6’s–this one brought to mind Mets/Red Sox in 1986, another game for the ages (sorry Bromfield, but, things have gone better for *your *team since then. :))

As a lukewarm baseball fan since my hometown Orioles have been brought to their knees by an owner who should have stuck to being a lawyer, it felt good to watch some really exciting baseball. If that 6th game had been in a movie, it would have been panned as unrealistic.

Nelson Cruz = Bill Buckner.

I don’t want to make Cruz out to be the goat because he was so fantastic offensively in the offseason, but scouting reports have always said his weakness is that he’s afraid of the wall. He showed that in Game 6.

The whole Selig All-Star home-field advantage thing is not feeling like a great idea right now, either. :)

Boy was i glad to see the NL win the All-STar game finally!
