Through $2 into the collection at work. It’s more like extortion, but there’s no way I’m letting everyone else win without me!!!
Though he was kidding, Vice President Biden said “never say never” and that he’d consider getting back into the 2016 race if he wins this lottery!
The ticket server will crash after lunch today.
I happened to watch these videos recently. I was surprised a little by the good advice they contained. Especially for people who play the lottery through a pooled purchase at work. Documenting the ticket purchase and using a list was recommended, and I wonder how often than happens.
Saw this on buzzfeed and had to share.

Here in Georgia they’re estimating it will add at least 16 million dollars to the HOPE scholarship coffers (assuming they’re not further pillaged by sticky fingered politicians here). So, I feel a little like I’m doing a good deed
Yes, it’s a tax on stupid people, but it’s also a little bit for the common good and a LOT of fun to discuss. My machine generated ticket has TWO 13’s on it, I’m psyched because that’s always been a lucky number for us.
It’s fun to fantasize about winning. Not only about paying off bills or buying a new house or other fun things, but setting up family, and giving to charity. How fun would it be to be able to live like Santa Claus 365 days a year!
I play oh about once every 10 years or so…and this is one of them. I’ll be checking those numbers tonight!
Dreaming about what I would do is worth the few bucks spent…
Besides the usual dreams, how about the dream of not having to fill out the CSS Profile and FAFSA again…Woo Hoo!!
Oh wow, raclut ! That had to have hurt ! Meanwhile, my sister is still convinced she threw out her $1M ticket
My birthday is next week. This would be a nice birthday present
lol
But really, I don’t even know what one would do with that kind of money. I’ve tried imaging it, but it’s difficult. I’d hire a housekeeper if we won and figure out a way to build an indoor pool. I can’t think of much else I want lol. (Obviously, I’d pay off debts and all that.)
The shelters around me would get a very nice, anonymous donation and I’d love to do something for the people who became surrogate parents to me after my dad’s accident.
Oh… and Mr R and I would go on a real honeymoon lol.
I just bought 5 tickets, and my son said I was an idiot. Hey, I’m not an idiot, just a lemming. Boy is he gonna be sorry when I win!
I still haven’t bought any tickets yet. Don’t know what is stopping me. Perhaps if the jackpot was smaller.
Rom, when I win, you and Mr. R are going on a real honeymoon.
@raclut, I haven’t bought tickets yet either.
When the jackpot was a manageable, oh, 150 million or 300 million, it was fun to fantasize. At 1.5 billion, winning sounds rather stressful.
I guess I could volunteer to pay for college for my four year old nephew - 1.5 billion sounds about right.
Aww thanks, CF
I bought 3 today and H bought 3. My BIL also bought a tkt. If any of us win we are sharing money three ways.
@emilybee I hope you got that in writing! (just joking)
Ummm…nope.
Can we superscore our tickets? I’m hoping to get a winner if I’m allowed to use all the regular numbers and all the Powerball numbers from all six of our tickets. Sadly, we only have five distinct Powerball numbers.
“If any of us win we are sharing the money three ways”. Oh my! I’d be like, buy your own dang ticket!
