Predict my Decision based on this graph

Well this graph: <a href=“ImageShack - Best place for all of your image hosting and image sharing needs”>ImageShack - Best place for all of your image hosting and image sharing needs;

is from my school’s website.

Blue line: Average of acceptances

I am the black circle.
Green square are acceptances
Red “x” are rejected
Blue diamonds were waitlisted or deferred
Green diamond was a waitlisted or deferred then acceptance
Red diamond was a waitlist or deferred then rejected

Ignore the 2000-2010…they only used it for the past 2-3 years

P.S.: Sorry for all the "x"s…too much people apply from my school (150 each year)

Make guesses lol (They accepted 5 that had the same SAT from my school)

Someone got in with a less than 1800 SAT and less average than you. I’d say you have some shot.

I always thought for the Naviance scattergrams, outside the box towards the top-right corner is what would be favorable.

Btw, any way of knowing whether these people are ED/RD? My school does show that information.

I guess all I could do is pray that Im that lucky guy lol. Just look at all those "x"s…a 98-99 GPA and 2300+ SAT…brutal

@Light Arien: 7 green were inside, 10 were outside…so yeah, outside is a little better.

No, my school doesn’t have that…unless there is something more about Navaince that I don’t know?

BTW…Im right on the line lol

Your SAT just seems way too low. Are you a URM?

Not really lol.

Any hooks? Athlete?

Not on a school team…was in a team outside school.

Im Egyptian…that should count as diversity I think.

I owned a website for 3 years.

I’d say pretty low JUST based on that chart. However, you’re a person not a number and I know nothing about you.

Well I do have a bigger SAT and GPA than 4 of the ones that got accepted…

BTW this chart proves that GPA is more important than SAT.

yeah, youre definitely still n the running.

however, my first impression from viewing this graph is…wow your school is definitely not the kind of ivy league feeding high school in the traditional sense…does your school have a lot of students who are like recruited athelete or super talent in some other areas? I would say average of below 2050 accepance for columbia is pretty low (which is a good thing right? lol)…consider how for my school the average for NYU was like 2053…strange lol

Well let me post this then:

Some seniors simply don’t update their file on Naviance and say that they got accepted, so the system automatically puts them as rejected. In other words, that chart under represents the number of those accepted.

Data supports this:

What happened to the other 18 applicants?

And for RD its missing 100+ people.

Some people in my school are in teams…not a whole lot though.

It looks like someone was brutally murdered on that graph

50% for sure.

Columbia is not your average schools…and you have data to prove it.

Seriously? You’ll find out in two days. My advice would be to get off these forums for a while, you seem to be on here creating new threads 24/7.

Arbydan: it’s an avergae school for no one lol

Duermo: and whats wrong with that? Let me enjoy the wait lol. I have nothing else to do this week (Thank God!)

No offense, but I find your incessant posting and thread-creation to be getting slightly annoying, but I guess it’s understandable as we’re all anxious.

Hey, duermomucho,

If you have a problem with Silence, maybe you can get off of the forums? I know everyone is getting anxious, but there’s no need to call him out for posting threads. Silence is a vital part of the Columbia forums, without him, there wouldn’t be too much activity. It gives those of us who want to be distracted something to do while we wait in agony.

For instance, the debate on the thread regarding the SAT and prep courses is what got me through that night.
