Pregnant college-bound senior

dragonmom: its possible that my college friends spoke more frankly with each other. The fact that people may not have known something about a friend or acquaintance does not mean, for example as someone said earlier, that only one person they knew ever had birth control fail or only one girl in high school ever got pregnant.

Again, she knew the consequences and had taken adequate precautions. Your other comment as to if I “was in the room” is just ridiculous. Your responses are just ridiculous and in your hypothetical world you think my D would take your comments with more weight than my personal experience? I think not. She came to me two days after her missed period. She didn’t have to come to me before she had even confirmed a pregnancy. She was open from the get go and I have to give her some latitude for that open communication.

Again, I have known more preachers’ kids and children of absolutely no sex allowed households who have been knocked up than others who have communication between. The teens and their parents about the real challenges of remaining abstinent. I’d rather be there and help her navigate that world than her feel like she has to go to friends with different values and less life expernience who are more apt to misinform her.

My parental choice.
