Lets vent shall we? My son met the 12/1 deadlines for many of the 13 schools he applied for. Now we wait to see if any green lights begin to happen. Sof far just rejections for MT, but 2 offers for an BFA Acting audition and one for a BA Drama/Theater. I wish it was easier for these artsy, talented kids. I didn’t realize until I talked to the “My Audition Coach” people that all the schools my son chose have a 5% chance or less of panning out for him! Has anyone else used My Audition Coach? Any insights? How is everyone doing during the waiting game?
We went through this process several years ago. Definitely not for the faint of heart. Didn’t work with My Audition Coach but worked with a similar service who impressed upon us how important it was to come up with a well rounded list since the admission rates are so low for some of these programs. If you look back in the forums, you’ll likely see some advice about non-audition schools or schools with slightly better odds that continue to take applications into the late winter depending on how your son is feeling after prescreen results come back. We ended up using an audition coach and it has made all the difference. We balanced out his schools and with his new material, he passed every single Prescreen, which was another 10 schools I think. Iaiaia! Chicago went well. Now we wait some more! Got a few offers so far from rolling admissions schools. I’m so happy he has some options now. Still waiting on the top schools to notify us.
