Does Princeton Interview all/most applicants or do they do an initial screen similar to Yale?

Thanks, that is what I saw from their website, I am curious what that means. Interestingly D24 got an interview request days after submitting so I was wondering if it is almost automatic (as opposed to after an initial review of file). Dartmouth was similar.

i don’t think i’ve gotten one yet and i applied on the deadline, so i expect it really does depend on availability
Those who applied RD and have gotten an interview, did you get an email or was it posted in your portal?

For DS2022, the alum emailed son,
wasn’t through the portal.

My daughter got an interview from the Interviewer I believe. She applied around 12/30 or so.

My D24 received an email also sent to the interviewer from the admission office saying the interviewer will contact her any time soon to set up the interview.

Depends on region and availability of interviewers. Once you apply the interview is assigned and how quickly you are contacted depends on the region chair and the interviewer. Don’t read into it it is a chance for you to learn about Princeton. If you have a region without enough interviewers and you are not contacted it has no impact on your application.
This is my take away with Princeton and Dartmouth. Yale is a bit different as they only interview about 10% of total applicants and the interview is later in the process.

That is correct. Yale interviews a small portion and it is selected by the admissions office when they want to learn more about someone. Princeton and Dartmouth are done by alumni who have never seen the application.
We haven’t received the interview invite yet and we applied on 12/30. We are from Mid-west.

I haven’t recieved anything from any ivy except for harvard… do you guys know the window within which interview requests can be sent? i live in the northern VA area so i’m sure there’s no shortage of alums here

So far we only got a Cornell interview. Nothing from Yale, Dartmouth or Princeton yet. Did not apply to other Ivies.

Just got the invite today, it’s a mass interview on a local college campus with time slots. Wouldn’t worry, it is still early, takes time and depends on location and availability. This is only school so far that’s done this type of set-up. My point in mentioning mass is obviously not all kids in our city applied same day so don’t think that’s a factor.
Can confirm interview requests for Princeton were sent out in major cities in Texas

Not at all. It’s a large volunteer operation, and timing varies widely depending on the head organizer of the area. Don’t read anything into the timing.
