Princeton Class or 2021 EA / RD Application thread

This is just a random thing but just remember guys: the right college for you will NOT reject you. That may be a weird idea but the place you end up at the next four years will have recognized your talents in the way you deserve. Don’t sell yourself short, you all seem very smart, kind, and driven to do well <3

They asked for my grades and yes my school works with a semester system. @Bxmpsy

But do not stress about it, even I do not know what it means. It could easily be that they are deciding on my application until know and I can be deferred or rejected. There is no point in speculating.

3 days left!!

Does anyone else feel realllllllly pressured to get in because people keep saying so? Like teachers and friends going like “Oh you’ll definitely be accepted!” And I’m just like ok sure fam HAHAHAHLAOALA

I need sleep if you can’t tell but thank you @MissAnthropy

decisions have been made by now in all likelihood, and if they’re asking for your grades now, it could be because they deferred you and want to keep a record for regular round. Then again, even this is speculation, much like all the stuff on this thread.

If they ask for your 1st quarter grades then they want more information to help make a decision. Just like anything it could be positive or negative. If they don’t ask then they have enough information to make a decision which could be positive or negative.

I disagree with you. @Dolemite I am at the top of my class academically, so I do not think they asked for my grades to have more information for my admissions decision. I think they have enough information because I have a high GPA, 4.0 unweighted.

Is it possible that some were not asked for first quarter grades because the school sends them automatically?

Apparently Yale had a glitch last year in which applicants were able to log onto the admitted students portal before decisions were released…

@oplurobha What I wrote isn’t really ground-breaking. They don’t ask for more information for no reason they ask for more information because they want more information. The website says they want 1st quarter grades if your school has them - so in reality they want that information for everyone. it could be as simple as the regional AO knowing that the school you attend does have 1st quarter grades and when s/he doesn’t see them then s/he asks for them.

Yeah who knows @Dolemite

Quick question
The website where we will see our decisions is the same as the application portal right?

Didnt get any of the financial aid email and now this quarterly grades one.
Hopes are really low!!!

I emailed Admissions about wether or not to send my first quarter grades now and someone responded: Thank you for your interest in Princeton University.

Please send your first quarter grades at your guidance office’s earliest convenience. Your application is being given every consideration without them.

I hope that this information is helpful.

Does this mean I have been deferred? Because results are 3 days away…

^No. “Your application is being every consideration without them” @Pumpkin99

Counselor received an email today requesting first quarter grades for the two of us applying. Both of us have been nothing but consistent (All A’s and one B each year) so I’m guessing they just ask everyone whenever they can?
If they don’t ask everyone, then they might as well have waited to receive our midyear reports if we got deferred.

The speculation continues haha

Maybe the consensus is that receiving the email is a good sign, while not receiving the email means nothing.

We’ll find out on Thursday, and keep track of what happened to inform the 2022 class what to make of different things based on our experiences

I think everyone is reading into financial aid and first quarter/semester grade request emails waaaay too much. Princeton is not going to send out a implied acceptance/rejection through one of these emails. If you get an email, I think they just genuinely need your financial aid forms or haven’t gotten your first quarter/semester grades. I truly doubt that there’s anything more to it.

I posted this several days ago in answer to someone else’s question, but according to https://admission.princeton.edu/applyingforadmission/early-action-faqs -
