Yeah that makes sense, Ivies have much more rigid restrictions because of the index. Also I think I recall a Stanford rep at a visit saying that the uni stresses more on academic rigor and motivation than one day performance on a test. Still I thought it felt quite odd @Giblinist we don’t look at Harvard. that’s madness.
@currypotato You mentioned that Reed and Colby are your safeties? Their admit rates are very low. Unless you already have an admit from another school or you’re applying to others you didn’t mention, to treat Reed and Colby as such is inviting disaster. Just saying…

@T26E4 Yeah, applying to a couple in Netherlands which are guaranteed acceptances (only req. to pass the IB). I guess I used the wrong word for them; they’re not safeties, more like back-up choices.

A kid in my class just said he heard from one of his friends that decisions are out…is this true? I don’t want to be the first to check
just wanted to say something since we’re about 24 hours away::
Please don’t let the admissions decision that you receive affect how you perceive yourself as a person or student. You are all wonderful people, and one’s acceptance/deferral/rejection does not make him or her superior/inferior to another. We know how much of admissions to these top institutions is luck. Have faith that everything will work out in the end, and that we will all end up somewhere incredible next fall. Good luck to all!!
