Ahh exactly 3 days to the minute!!! What on earth is happening this is too real
@meaa7130 Dawn of the first day. 72 hours remain. cue spooky moon face
Hey guys, if Princeton asks applicants for their ap scores ahead of admission decisions, is this any indicator of possible acceptance? A two applicants from my school were asked by the UA office for their ap scores but i wasn’t and I have been told that they would only ask for them if they were going to accept you and just needed official scores for clarification…
@naturecanyon I was not aware that Princeton or any school would request an official report for AP Scores! It seems strange that they would request them from two kids from your school, but I have not heard of anyone receiving that request, nor has Princeton requested them from me! Hopefully it’s just a fluke.
I’ve been watching this thread for a while, but the closer we get to Wednesday, the more anxious I become! The doubt is becoming unbearable. My scores/GPA (32/4.3) are definitely on the lower side and I’m really nervous. I’m expecting a rejection, honestly, but I know it will hurt a lot. Not to be a downer or anything–I just wanted to voice my anxieties. Good luck to everyone else though! Everyone here seems so warm and encouraging (I wish we could ALL get in! haha)
@seniorciti in fact this has been a trend in my school, (i havent seen it occur in other schools). For example, last year, two applicants, one deferred EA/ the other applied RD, were asked for their AP scores in february while all the other applicants received no such requests from Princeton. Turns out that the RD applicant was accepted, and the deferred applicant was waitlisted. The rest of the applicants that received no requests to send scores were all rejected (RD and EA). Even two years ago, an applicant from my school who got in EA was asked to send scores two weeks before decisions and coincidentally, this person was the only applicant admitted that year. I really hope this is a fluke, but previous evidence proves otherwise and it kind of makes me lose hope that Princeton would do something like this to give a near obvious sign of acceptance
@naturecanyon How did your friend know Princeton requested official AP scores? Did Princeton contact your friend?
They were both contacted by their guidance counselor and were shown the email that the guidance counselor (also my guidance counselor) received from Princeton
Guys, there are only three days left. Let’s just stop speculating and head towards our deaths in peace ~:>
@lonelyowl Amen to that!!
600th post woo hoo!!! ~:>
Just finished my creative UChicago essay! It was a bit long, but I really liked it. Now I have an extra weapon against my deferral on Wednesday! (Writing RD essays while waiting is so tough though… but I only have two more to go.)
@naturecanyon I’ve noticed the same thing on last year’s thread as well. Applicants whose counselors got calls from Princeton asking for grades or scores were more likely to get admitted (see 2019 thread, page 95). This is making me kind of fearful since my counselor hasn’t received any contact from Princeton yet. Hopefully this doesn’t mean anything, but if it does, I guess I’ll be more prepared for my deferral/rejection on Wednesday.
Oh yeah, almost forgot. ~:> size=2[/size]
@azwu331 Ahhhh maybe hahaha, or slytherin house
@greeny8 Thanks for the information. I don’t know if your brother works for one of Ivies. But his summary seems very close to what I guessed based on my experiences as reviewer on scholarship selections at higher education. I am not sure if Princeton considers ‘state residency’.
@azwu331 The reason your counselor didn’t get a call from Princeton is probably because your counselor sent your first quarter report to Princeton in advance prior to their request. I think you don’t have to worry about it if that is the case.
Good luck to all!!!
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
I’ve given you guys a lot of leeway on this thread, and I get that you are all anxious awaiting decisions, but the poop conversation is just not appropriate.
Quick question (not about Princeton): I applied to Harvard RD and since then I’ve won 2 awards/honors and was elected treasurer of a club. Do you think I should let them know? Like how much does it matter? I think I should but I don’t want to come across as TOO overzealous or maybe pretentious or something?? I don’t know, I think I will.
I check this thread nearly every 5 minutes, so I thought I would stop by and say good luck to everyone!!! If I were a college, I would admit all of you based on your supportiveness! ~:>
I would do the same. Maybe you could have someone send you an additional recommendation letter that includes your latest accomplishments, that way you don’t have to worry about sounding obnoxious (although I guess Harvard doesn’t mind B-) )

Just wanted to make sure that everyone was getting some of the luck.
Random question: do you guys think significant International awards in STEM would outweigh mediocre - slightly above average essays?
