@Almondjoy7 Ikr, right now I just want to embrace the friendliness and warmth of this community before everyone here gets separated into 3 piles: the accepted, the deferred and the rejected.
Here’s a lucky chicken by the way! ~:>

Here’s a lucky chicken by the way! ~:>
Wish every one of you the very best ~:>
Princeton fam is gonna kill it Wednesday ~:>
Good luck everyone ~:>
All the best guys! ~:> ~:>
sometimes i forget we’re getting decisions on wednesday and sometimes it crashes down all at once ahhhh ~:>
~:> lemme just join in with the chicken…
2 days, 6 hours, and 22 minutes… Gah, I’m so nervous
~:>
Things that make you go Hmmmm…
Just an observation, but anyone else pondering why it is that although Princeton (all Ives, really) is quick to bring down the “holistic evaluation” hammer to explain their admissions process any time it’s brought up, but when it’s the 11th hour & they are obviously whittling away at the piles of applications, the only calls they have going out to GCs are requests for more stats? AP scores, mid term grades, etc.
If it were really THAT holistic & they wanted more info to put together or create the next class as holistically relevant as they purport, wouldn’t calls also be going out to find out more about the individual as a person, the intangibles, not just about their academic performance updates???
For instance, if they wanted more Leader types - there are tons of people in the world who are great leaders as adults (think the best boss you’ve ever had), but have zero interest in heading up the local PTA or Elks club. The intangible qualities of a great boss are what make true leaders but if you were to look at their ECs on paper, it would make them look rather like a dud. But if you talked with their employees, you’d get a really good idea of exactly what type of leadership qualities that person had.
Maybe I’m not looking at this right, but I really do believe that the whole Holistic Admissions policy is just a way to justify special cases or situations & isn’t a huge of a factor for the general applicant pool as they try to lead us to believe.
Thoughts?
ETA: I’ve always been a firm believer that actions speak louder than words. So I’m just looking at this from the point of view that’s just looking at actions & disregarding their words. Thus the question.
@jumbletumbles only the ~:> knows.
But seriously it might be that the admissions office knows that kids from those specific schools can be underprepared so they are looking for more external proof that they can be successful. So for those kids holistic means verifying their academics.
@whatthewhat good point
Sometimes I momentarily forget about Wednesday and I’m just doing my own thing and being happy and stuff and then some little devil in my brain reminds me “oh Wednesday is doomsday” and then I get this twinge of nervousness in my stomach and I get all anxious and worried and it really sucks ugh Wednesay please come already :-SS ~:>
Oddly MIT releases on Wednesday also, right? (But an hour later or something.) I thought we were the last ones waiting and felt annoyed, but now am less annoyed.
@fretfulmother UChicago releases on Friday so we’re definitely not last.
~:> We are all on the same boat now…
Nerves skyrocketing. Good luck to all!!! ~:>
The tiger on the application tracking portal is intimidatingly staring into my soul lol ~:>
@eyesight2020 @meaa7130 I 100% feel you guys. It’s like I’ll be enjoying my time browsing the internet or reading a book and BAM it’ll hit me again that Wednesday is quickly approaching. It’s killer!!
@morrisk: Hahaha, SO true.
Good luck to all of you with finals!! So happy I don’t have to take any, but that also means I have nothing to be occupied with until Weds. Maybe I should be working on RD applications…
~:>
@morrisk I feel like hes judging me… “You got a 770 on your Math 2 subject test? Idiot. Don’t you know the curve is amazing?” or “Wow you got a B in AP Physics mwahahaha Princeton will never accept your subpar academic record. Just go to community college already.”
~:>
I feel that on a spiritual level ~:> @meaa7130
