I didn’t do my interview until the 20th! I do think it went well, but my interviewer and I didn’t really have anything in common so we didn’t mesh as well as with other interviews
Just had my interview today lol
I have been told the same
I just got an email from Princeton two days ago asking me for my missing PFAA. I really have no idea at this point whether there is a correlation. I always thought the admissions officers took the acceptees/waitlisters and then handed them over to the financial aid office so they wouldn’t waste time processing every single applicant’s financial aid if a majority are going to get rejected anyway.
Of course, I don’t want to get my hopes up, and this is all speculation but I am curious to hear what others have to say especially if you have experienced this.
@crazykat7 I’m not entirely sure but I do think there is some correlation between the two because something similar happened to me too during their SCEA but I ended up getting deferred, so it’s most likely a sign that you won’t be rejected maybe
Sorry, but you shouldn’t read anything into this. At most schools (including Princeton) the admissions and financial aid processes take place simultaneously and separately, because the FA office wouldn’t have time to process everything if they waited until the final admit list was finished. Every year there are posts on College Confidential from folks who were asked for missing documents by a college financial aid office and then received rejections 10 days later.
got the same email and found a 2017 thread on it.
thereś no correlation bc some kids that got the email got rejected/wL but some who got it got in.
I remember discussing this very topic in that 2017 thread mentioned above, and it turned out that there was no correlation. Just confirming @HellaStressed20’s post. We did receive such emails from Princeton and UPenn back then. If my memory serves me correctly, we found that, while there was no correlation for Princeton, there was with UPenn. In other words, while many applicants who received an email about missing PFAA from Princeton ended up being rejected or waitlisted, all who received such email from UPenn were admitted.
Soooo our daughter was deferred last year and then admitted. IMO Princeton just keeps reminding you to do the form. We did not complete or submit the form until after admission. We did not expect to get aid and therefore did not make the form a priority. That being said, the way Princeton analyzes your finances, we did receive aid . They take into account other college children and other ids in the home. I would fill it our but know it has no bearing on admission.
I’m surprised at how dry this thread his been lately lol when other Ivy threads, escpecially UPenn’s are extremely active. Anyhow, I’m just ready to see what I get on March 26th ?
lmao
Question: Would the admissions committee look at my application seriously if I applied with a 32 ACT? (URM, low-income, rural)
@Xxdreams a 32 is Princeton’s 25th percentile ACT score. They will certainly give your application consideration and take into account your demographics. They will expect your extracurriculars to be exceptional, as would any school at this tier, and it would help for you to have a solid GPA as well
Guys my counselor received an email from Princeton about the cancellation of all on-campus events for admitted students due to coronavirus. Did your counselors say anything about getting an email like this?
This message is posted on the Princeton website, and it mentions the Preview Days being canceled:
“Important Update
In response to the COVID-19 (commonly known as coronavirus), the University strongly discourages large gatherings on campus. This includes campus tours, information sessions, Princeton Preview and other University-wide programming. These measures are being taken to help ensure the health and well-being of the campus community and beyond.”
@023ughger thank you.
It’s oddly quiet here
Too quiet…
silenc…
i mean i’m sure we’re all having lowkey anxiety about this but all we can do is wait
