Hi guys!
Thinking about applying REA (international student)
Unweighted GPA: 96/100 UW
SAT /ACT scores: might go test-optional, taking the SAT October
ECs: RSI research, volunteer+outreach program director at local hospital, intern at Google and Stanford(research intern), track team(almost-nationally recognized), founder of startup that uses synthetic bio to solve health problems, teacher during gap year, founder of env. bio club in school etc.
Major: Molecular Biology
Nice to meet you all!
My daughter wants to apply SCEA with Princeton, she wants to know whether she can EA USC (university of Southern California) which is a private institute to be confedered for merit based scholarship. Both Sandford and Harvard are Ok with it. Thanks
Edit for correction: I was positive there was an exemption but now I can find it. I’d call the admissions office and ask directly. It seems strange that they wouldn’t allow it.
I actually don’t think Princeton has the scholarship exception, like Harvard and Yale do. I don’t see it on the website….
Anyone had their interview yet? D24 is glad it’s over and nothing left to do. Good luck to all!
Yup. D24 had hers last week. Now we wait. Painful!
Has anybody else gotten a request for first Q1 grades? My counselor did about a day ago, and with the decisions coming out so soon, I am wondering if it means anything. Looking back on previous posts, it looks like most who get asked get accepted.
The guidance counselors at our school send first quarter grades to colleges automatically (it was a few weeks ago). I think a lot of high schools do this?
But it may be a good sign!
When will princeton release their decisions?
No official announcement yet, but Yale announces 12/14 – I bet P will be the same.
Thank you for this information. My school does not often do this, so my thought process is: With only a week left before decisions come out, why would they email to ask my counselor for them unless I was in the last stages (committee)? But I won’t know for sure until next Thurs/Friday. I will update everyone on my decision for future applicants to know what this request at this stage means. Good luck to us all.
I applied via Questbridge, so not Early Action but still early, hopefully welcome here.
Unweighted GPA: 3.97
SAT /ACT scores: 33 ACT
ECs: Significant volunteer work on a half dozen political campaigns; member of community organizations; published in local newspapers; Mock Trial team captain; National History Bee state champion; Archery team; History Club president; Science Fair; archery team; led an effort to register homeless folks to vote.
Major: I ranked Urban Studies, South Asian Studies, and International Relations.
Alas, rejected.
Could be. Our school doesn’t have Q1 grades so the policy is just to send the most updated grades when the colleges ask for them. And it was always presented as when, rather than if.
But in your case if they don’t do that for other applicants at your school maybe it does mean at least that you’re still in the running.
I also got a grade request! based on what I’ve seen, it’s def not a bad sign and those who get a request typically get accepted/deferred. however, there are still a lot of ppl who don’t get a request and still get in.
It’s official Dec 14th at 7 pm. 75 hrs to go, good luck to all.
Our school has semester grades as well. How bad is it that I just noticed I mixed up 2 letters on my GC email add(Jaime not Jamie)? I mean I know he sent them my LOR and transcript awhile ago and they have his #. But this is Princeton Uni. I know I’ll def get rejected for that alone.
40 more hours.
just curious, how many of you guys got a Q1 grade request? and if u r comfortable sharing, how have your grades looked like?
