My mom (who is obviously not interviewing this season) got an email saying interview reports are due Dec. 1. So a decent amount of time left.

Does that mean all the decisions will be made only after Dec 1?

not sure, let’s hope so. All the ivies say “mid December”, but not clear if they’ll be on the same day.

It went well! The conversation was interesting. It’s hard for me to tell what is “good” and what is “great” since it’s my first interview so far.
And your son’s?

Same :grinning: He had his interview last night. He said he had a good conversation but he couldn’t tell if it was good or great.

I don’t think having a sibling attend hurts, although there may a greater expectation that the applicant will have more in depth insights on the “why Princeton” or related questions involving the Princeton community. I think a lot of legacy students have that advantage, not necessarily as a pure legacy bump, but more familiarity with the school so their essays are more compelling.

Agreed. He approached that question based on his visits to Princeton, the activities outside classes there and the various Professors he follows and the classes they teach.

D25 finished the interview as well. Does Good or Great matter to the admissions office? They will consider red flags gathered from really bad interviews I suppose.

@Parent-in-Georgia Did your son get a Q1 grade request? I haven’t and was wondering if this meant anything. Do they do this if they are uncertain about your performance at school? Thanks!

Looking through last year’s thread, it looks like people who receive a grade request are mostly admitted/deferred, but some were admitted without a request at all. They were sent around Dec 2, so should be next week.

@Berk708 no, we didn’t get a grade request, but S25’s HS doesn’t do quarter grades, only semester grades.

How do you know if your school received a request?

I think you would receive the request and forward it to your counselor.
