I’m trying to decide between Yale and Princeton for biology/global health right now. Because these schools really are very similar to each other in most aspects, I’ve just been trying to picture myself spending my college years at each place.

Picturing myself happy at Princeton is very easy for me to do at the moment because I met some great people the first day and we became really good friends. But, I hear that the people you meet at campus preview days really aren’t the people you’ll be friends with. This makes sense if you simply tag along with other students because you don’t want to be alone. I met this one girl though who had my interests, had the same personality as me, shared my political/religious views, and on top of that was incredibly nice. We got along like we’d known each other for years, and she begged me to go to Princeton with her (then backed off because she knew it was my decision).

Yale was nice as well, but I spent a lot of the time exploring by myself or with various people. I didn’t get to know anyone super well, so I’m having a harder time picturing myself happy there.

Is this a legitimate reason to base my college decision off of? I feel like my not meeting anyone who I could see myself being great friends with at Yale was just bad luck, but I can’t disconnect my memories of Princeton from the person I met there. I’m freaking out because May 1st is almost here, so any opinions/advice would be appreciated!! :)
