Procrastination

How do I avoid procrastinating junior year? I am taking 3 AP classes, doing research at a university, doing community service, preparing my intel project with my mentor, studying for the SAT’s and the SAT II’s. I also have to juggle positions in various clubs.

I am a chronic procrastinator. Sometimes I just sit and watch TV, even though I know I have work. I am a good student, but I ** have ** to do well this year.

As a fellow procrastinator, I have some great tips I can share with you. Maybe I’ll get around to sharing them tomorrow…

Don’t fight it, EMBRACE IT :)

You could try locking yourself in your room. If you have a tv in your room, stuff it in the attic for the rest of the year.
Or what I do is tell myself that if I get everything done, my reward will be more sleep. lol xP

I’m a professional procrastinator. Last minute is always the best minute.

throw your tv out the window and infect your computer with a virus

then catch a cold so none of your friends will spend time with you

now you will have nothing to do but study

Don’t try to fight it cold turkey, it makes it worse unless you can pull it off.
Give in for a little bit (eat an afternoon snack, watch one television show), then get to work, and put on some music to make it more bearable. Treat it like it’s important and vital and fun and all that, and imagine the extreme consequences of slacking off. Have a schedule/deadlines. Get your family to remind you if you think it’s a good option.
