Garnier Deep Wrinkle Cream. Cheap, comparitively speaking. I LOVE it. So afraid they’ll stop making it. That’s what usually happens to me.

GPS on my smartphone. One gadget that handles email, internet, GPS, etc. I love, love, love my Kindle (old news, but I love it). I am lusting after a tablet (IPad) though. I want a steam mop wayoutwestmom. Looking onto the Sephora Vitazing facecream. Love that it is SPF 15.

Dad, I have listened to audio books for years, love them for my many hours spent in the car each day.

Dadof3, I love downloadable audiobooks, too. I get them from our library. I listen while in the car, while doing housework, on the treadmill. It’s great.

mamom, if you do get that Origins cream, put it on with a brush, not your fingers. It spreads better, more evenly and you end up using less of it.

Zojirushi rice cooker
Point 6 wool socks
Thermapen instant digital thermometer
Le Creuset dutch oven
TomTom 2535 live GPS with HD traffic feeds

I switched to daily contact lens recently. A little more expensive, but using less solution helps offsets the higher cost. I am so glad I switched. Much more convenient and easier on my eyes (was having a problem with dryness before).

frugaldoctor - what kind of acne gel? over-the-counter or prescription?

My iPad and iPhone, Shark Navigator Lift-Off Vacuum and long-handle broom & dustpan combinations (loved that so much that I keep one on each floor of the house!). And now I wonder how I managed without my dryer with the “steam, dewrinkle” cycle.

Transponder to pay for highway tolls. Can’t believe we used to waste time hoarding quarters, collecting little cards at tollbooths, etc. Or in the case of crossing New York state east-to-west, keeping fives and singles on hand to pay a toll.

Love my iPad and I spend way too much time with it.

My Garmin GPS watch for golf. No more point and shoot. Love it!

Oh yes, GPS and google maps on iPhone.

Boomer22, can you explain the “GPS watch for golf”? S2 loves golf, and I’m curious about what this does.

Keyless ignition on my car. Gone are the days of rummaging through my purse looking for the keys. Now the doors unlock whenever I get close to the car and I push a button to start the engine. This is a luxury I hope I never have to give up.

GRITS80, I love that keyless feature too.

I can see that I’m really behind the times. Can you tell me more about keyless ignition? Do you mean that you don’t have a car key at all? How does the car “know” to unlock itself when you approach - do you have something in your purse?

My car is 12 years old and H’s car is almost this old, so I am not up on recent innovations.

I have a thing that looks like a large remote that you might have for your trunk or doors. As long as it is in my purse or pocket, I simply pull on the door handle and it unlocks. When I get out of the car, I shut the door and push the button on the door handle to lock it. It will not lock if the key is in the car. The same goes for the hatchback.

My car has a knob that you push in and turn to start it.

The only downside is that if someone else is in the car and wants to get something out of the back, they have to take the “key.” This of course is a safety feature so someone can’t open the back if you are stopped at a light or in traffic.

The car I replaced was a 2002.

Thanks for the explanation, MDMom. My car is a 2001, and I’m starting to think about replacing it. I can already see some inconvenience - I regularly drive my son and his friends to play golf. I stop with the car running and they go to the back (of the van) and get their clubs out.

My car may be weird in that it only has a glass hatch that opens, no door at all. With a van or sedan, there surely would be a release from the inside even with the keyless entry. AND my car is so new that it may have a release too and I have not found it yet. ;)

I’ve rented cars with keyless ignition and find I don’t rent them long enough to get used to that feature, I pull out the key every time :)

GPS (Google Nav) on my Android phone…got that 5 or so years ago and it is priceless. We travel by car to places we’ve never been quite a lot so it is one of the things I use my phone for the most. Early on bought a car mount for it.
