Is it better to show progress in ECs or consistency? I started on the school newspaper last year as a Copy Editor, now I am the News Editor (front page!), and next year I plan on running for Editor-in-Chief. Another example is Model UN: I learned about the club last year (sophomore year), joined, and loved it. I am really hoping to be able to join the “Varsity Team” this year and compete at the national level. Is this gradual acquiring of leadership roles more advantageous when applying to college or would a constant form of leadership be preferable?

Bump…

Getting a higher up position in the same organization is always a good thing

u plan to go to model un’s national conference? thatll be hard… good luck but u might not win anything. have fun tho and remember in the end, well all be the same

My school’s team went to both Georgetown and Harvard last year. I guess we have a pretty solid student base. :)
