I’ve seen reports that PR is headed back to Bravo (bravo to that!!) but not until 2019. So does that mean there isn’t going to be a 2018 season? The “Project Runway 2017” thread says that the first episode was August 17 last year, so I hope we’ve got a season coming soon.
I was looking online for any news a few weeks ago. It looks like the next season won’t be aired until 2019. Evidently it’s collateral damage from the Harvey Weinstein fiasco. https://variety.com/2018/tv/news/project-runway-future-weinstein-bankruptcy-1202743162/
The most recent news I could find is that they are in the casting stage with filming set to begin in October. Even Heidi and Tim hadn’t been signed on yet. https://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/2018/06/bravo-project-runway-17-casting-prize/
I hadn’t heard anything about a new season but I sure do enjoy PR and I hate to wait that long for a season! (how about Top Chef - anything on the horizon???)
@bouolders is correct. NBCUniversal bought the rights to the show (as a concept) as a result of the Weinstein bankruptcy. However, any contracts with talent would need to be redone. Heidi/Tim/Nina/etc. may be back. Or they may not.
I knew the Weinstein situation was part of the problem. As far as the “talent,” as long as Tim Gunn is back, I’ll be happy. #PocketSquare
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! It was bad enough having to wait for the new season because of the move back to Bravo, but now I WON’T HAVE MY TIM GUNN!! Waaaaaaahhh!!

I’m DONE.
Actually I should say in addition to that, the show is DONE. I don’t think they should bother to reincarnate.
Zac Posen is also out.

NOOOOOOO!! Heidi is interchangeable but not Tim!!!
I’m also done with PR without Tim there. Sounds to me that Bravo should have negotiated contracts with the lead talent on the show BEFORE getting PR back. Fortunately I have Amazon Prime so I can see whatever Tim and Heidi come up with.
In the entertainment world at least, you can’t negotiate with talent for a property for which you don’t have the rights. I suppose NBCUniversal could have made the deal contingent on retaining the talent, but decided not to for whatever reason.
I am happy to see Zac support their decision. Love him.
I was so looking forward to the return of Project Runway! I couldn’t watch the other PR shows that didn’t have Heidi and Tim. I hope Tim owns “Make it Work” because I cannot imagine he can NOT say it! I will definitely watch the new show. PR could easily have become a cash cow for Bravo had they played their cards right.
Tim Gunn was in Austin last week for a charity event and there was a brief write-up in our paper. He said that when the show moved back to Bravo, which we all thought was a good thing, the Bravo people offered Tim and Heidi only 60% of their salaries and they both said “buh-bye”. Bravo probably shot themselves in the foot.
This is what Tim Gunn said per the article below:
The end of his time on “Project Runway” began in the spring. The new season was ready to go. Then he and Klum found out through young relatives by way of social media that the show was headed back to Bravo, its original home, from Lifetime. After a period of silence from the networks, their agents informed them on an offer of 60 percent less salary than they were making before. To the Bravo execs, these two idols were “old and stale.” So Gunn and Klum accepted an offer from Amazon to create a new fashion show. Details to come.” https://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/project-runway-why-tim-gunn-left-the-fashion-design-series/
Bravo really missed the boat. Tim Gunn is the reason why I watched Project Runway (and same for my D). If anything the format was getting a bit stale and could use a bit of a shake-up, but not Tim (and Heidi). I don’t the re-boot will get a lot of viewers. Let’s see what they come up with on Amazon – glad I have Prime!
Stupid move Bravo. Who in their right mind would say “sure!” to 60% less salary. Let alone a celeb - Tim Gunn is a Betty White - he will be loved and valued no matter how many decades are behind his age.
Heidi and Tim’s replacements:

Never heard of Karlie Kloss, but i like Christian Siriano.
Better than I expected. I was anticipating at least one Jenner/Kardashian sister.
Model. Taylor Swift bestie. Engaged to Jared Kushner’s brother.
I’m a little surprised that Christian would step in knowing what they did to Heidi and Tim. I didn’t care for Christian for awhile but have warmed up to him.
To be fair, we have one side of the Tim/Heidi story. IRL, negotiation is more than “We’re offering$ X” “No, we’re going to Amazon.” Regardless, it’s business. I doubt that Heidi or Tim begrudge Christian who would still be sketching in obscurity without PR.
