The Project Runways All Stars will be: Mondo Guerra, Austin Scarlett, Anthony Williams, Sweet P, Kenley Collins, Rami Kashou, Kara Janx, Eliza Jimenez, Jerell Scott, Gordana Gehlhausen, Mila Hermanovski, April Johnston, and Michael Costello.

I have a little bit of a soft spot for Michael Costello. He did beautiful work and his castmates all thought he was rubbish. I never get it when the cast thinks they know better than the judges.

Show will air later this year, sadly without Heidi and Tim.

There will be some major changes to the judging panel, too. Heidi Klum, who can currently be seen hosting season nine of Project Runway, will not be MIA for the spinoff, with leggy model Angela Lindvall doing hosting duties instead.

Isaac Mizrahi and talented Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman will judge the all stars, while Marie Claire’s editor-in-chief- Joanna Coles will play the role of mentor Tim Gunn.

No Heidi or Tim? We hope the producers find a way to make this work.

Did, anyone watch the first episode of Project Runway All Stars last night? I did, and very much enjoyed it. It was so much better than anything the last couple of regular seasons, and I didn’t miss Nina or Michael or Heidi at all. Or even Tim, much.

[Spoiler alert]

It was great to see Mondo and Rami and Austin (despite that awful mustache) and Kara Saun and others. And I loved what Mondo and Rami sent to the runway (it was an “unconventional materials bought at a dollar store” challenge), and don’t have a problem with their picking Rami as the winner, although I preferred Mondo’s work. I think Sweet Pea should have been the one eliminated, though.

I too loved Mondo and Rami’s designs. I feel that in past years, they would have been chastised for not using more “unusual” materials. Sweet P looks great

I also miss Tim, but NOT Michael Kors. When I was Christmas shopping I found myself immediately putting down any item with his name on it.

I’m afraid to get sucked into the all-stars series. I did watch it last night, and don’t mind the judges and the host, but it just feels like a Project Runway Knockoff.

So, I have already forgotten: who won the year that Mondo was on?

So glad they eliminated that New Age nonsense designer, who was annoying when she first competed and still annoying this time. Don’t know how she made All Stars. Sweet P could have easily gone as well, imo.

I think it will be hard to watch in the sense that I too love Mondo/felt he was cheated out of the win with the Judge Madness that went on in that Finale and will want to root for him all the way; but others are also very good and I will be wanting to pull for them as well. Stressful, lol.

Jillian? I thought she was great (I always especially loved the coats and jackets she made), and have often wondered what she’s been up to. I’m sorry she isn’t part of this, but maybe she’s doing really well and doesn’t need it? (I hope.)

Would be mean to say that I love that Kenley and Jerrell are back? He cracked some of the best jokes about her, especially when she made the hip hop outfit for leanne and he told her that he would be with leanne and Korto at the tent.

I absolutely thought Austin deserved to win. His gown was amazingly (understated) beautiful and sophisticated. If Michael’s gown had won, I would have been equally delighted. That feather/jeweled collar was exquisite. I’m amazed at what these 2 can pull off in such a short amount of time. Mondo’s gown was amazing in a completely different way. Architectural, and beautiful. These 3 will make watching this season worth every second.

I already placed my bet that Michael will win this season.

For the first time Project Runway actually feels like Project Runway. There isn’t too much character drama and the designers actually have talent. The past couple seasons have been lackluster. I like having a whole new judging panel because Heidi and her entourage had these judgements about all these designers and we have this fresh new perspective on things.

I just need to say it - I don’t like Michael or his designs. I hated his dress this week because I know it could be seen straight off the red carpet of a movie premiere rather than a night at the opera. Not a huge fan of his draping either.

I want Mondo to win just to get what he deserves. When Top Chef did their All Star version everyone said that Richard Blaise should’ve won his season and then he won All Stars.

I too am not a Michael fan - I just don’t see natural talent and I’m not a fan of his designs - lots of flowy dresses that don’t seem to take too much to put together.

When Mondo’s design came out I didn’t realize it was his (they didn’t show as much of the designing in the work room so I didn’t know what he had created) but immediately loved it - except for the big bow thingy on the back. Austin’s definitely deserved the win IMO.
