Project Runway All Stars Cast Revealed!

I can’t help but think it will be a boys year as well. I have always loved Austin and Rami is wonderful. I still feel like Michael is a bit of an idiot savant-able to drape his way to a beautiful garment without much technical ability. As much as I love Mondo, I can see him being a victime if the challenges continue lean toward glamour or society.

I know. I wish they’d brought Jillian back. IMO she’s been the most talented female contestant they’ve ever had.

Perhaps it is just me and because my husband know someone who used to do the editing for Project Runaway when it was on the other channel.

It appears like the show is shot cheaply, or maybe it is edited choppily. I think the woman who is playing the Heidi role is unmemorable though I like the cast of judges.

I just watched this weeks show. The Miss Piggy concept was actually a brilliant challenge. I thought Romi should have won, Austin let me down and Michael’s personality continues to grate on my nerves.

I can’t believe I am saying this…the new judges were fun for a couple of weeks, but I am starting to miss Nina, Michael and Heidi. I miss Tim, but I enjoy the editor of Marie Claire when she makes her workroom visits.

I couldn’t believe micheal won. They had just said miss piggy would never wear black! I personally liked gordanas dress. Kelley is much more likable this time around. I hoped Milan would go, that woman is NO fun!

I watched for the first time last night. Miss Piggy and 6 hour challenge back to back. My first remark…who is the new Heidi? She talks so slowly and it drags the show down. Her voice is so monotone and boring. I’m not sure I’ll make it through the entire season.

I almost gagged watching Michael’s face when Diane von Furstenburg said “Michael, you must give me a call after the show”

Austin’s creations are still disappointing me.

I think Kenley should have been in the top three, not Mila. Tough to pick a winner. I liked both Mondo’s and Michael’s dresses equally.

I guess Michael’s dress was okay, but it is so similar to what he always made during his season. I just think he is fakey (how do you spell that?) when he does that over reacting routine. I agree that Kenely’s dress was really, really cute.

I’ve had a soft spot for Michael ever since he was so bullied during his season. (And if he’s “fakey”, what word do we invent for Austin Scarlett?) I think the ridiculous time limit forced most of the designers to resort to their existing repertoire. We’ve seen Kenley’s dress several times before, too. Even though his dress wasn’t a great success, I have to give Rami credit for trying something different. Same for Mondo, though his canteloupe-with-rind caftan was awful. I have to think the producers had something more in mind with this challenge than just having everyone use their gelato’s colors for their fabric, but only Kara tried to convey the experience of eating chocolate with a cayenne kick.

I agree that the time limits bother me. Who on earth rushes their designer?

I liked the 6 hour challenge, if only to see what can be put together in that amount of time. As the parent of a fashion design student, I see where my D has sketched designs (complete with fabric ideas, and fully accessories, including hair) in under 10 minutes. In school they are trained to think and work fast on their feet (and have to sketch between 65 and 100 pieces a week). Not too much time to ruminate and get caught up in their own doubt. I think that’s what one of the judges was alluding to with April when they said “when you see something isn’t working, move on” (who said that to her? The Marchesa woman I think.) Anyway, none of the dresses were knockouts, but Michael’s draping was beautiful. I also have a soft spot for him after the beating he appeared to take in his season. So far I like the season, and look forward to seeing more.

^Plus, they surely wanted to be able to say something like, “This is the tightest time limit in the HISTORY OF PROJECT RUNWAY!”

Ugh. I just don’t get the michael love by the judges. And it appeared that it would have been helpfu
For the designers to know that model was going to be wearing the dress! Small detail!!!

Did not understand why they tossed Mila aside. And mondo was robbed again!,

Agree with you, abasket, on Michael. Every time he is up there with another designer, I think, “Mondo Mondo Mondo” or “Rami Rami Rami” or whatever. And then it’s always Michael! Did not get the adulation the first time he competed and I don’t get it now.

I didn’t think much of Michael’s either. It really said “Golden Girls” to me, like something Blanche Devereaux might have worn. A lounging robe. I liked Mondo’s, and it annoys me that he hasn’t won a challenge yet. Still, I’m very much enjoying this; the talent level is so much higher than this past regular season, and the season before that (except for Mondo himself) that it must be pretty embarrassing for the producers.

PS: I don’t even dislike Michael. I think he’s sincere, and that the friendship that he and Mondo have developed (they both live in the Denver area, I believe) is very sweet. And I agree that he was horribly bullied by Ivy, Gretchen and others in his season. To a certain extent I believe it was a class thing; they were angry that someone who clearly didn’t have a formal education in the area was being successful. I admire him for achieving what he has. How many successful Roma designers are there, after all? Still, in this case: Blanche Devereaux!

But I bet she didn’t then have to construct it, fit it on a model and style the model in six hours!

MommaJ, so true! They have several months to construct. But again, they’re students, not professionals.

Now that Blanche Devereaux(!) has been brought up as a potential wearer of Michael’s lounging robe, I am questioning my thoughts on the garment Michael made. I know I liked the draping and the flow of the fabric.

I really did like Mondo’s, and I do think there’s going to be a surprise ending with Mondo being the winner. He is amazingly talented, and makes some interesting garments.

If Mondo doesn’t win this season then I predict a world wide uprising! I love that guy!!!

I gave up watching after gretchen won the other year… but i have been tuning in to all stars. I’m glad to see a fresh set of judges and the designs of these people from the past seasons. I did think Kara should have gone home this past week… though April’s dress was awfully short in the back. I didn’t so much care for Michaels dress but it was made very well and he understood what was required for a 6 hour challenge. I loved his miss piggy dress and most of the things he did during his season. I’m assuming him, mondo, or rami will win this year. I was surprised to see Mila do something not black and white for a change but agreed with the judges on seeing the red through the white. I hope kenley goes home soon because i dont like seeing the same outfit in a different shade of pink each week.
