Project Runway All Stars Cast Revealed!

Just caught up for last week. Anyone? I liked the challenge and was thrilled for Mondo (it was his challenge, and he aced it)!

Michael lives & works in Palm Springs. I think his gowns reflect the age & wealth of that community, as I imagine him designing clothes for aging Hollywood stars to wear to various benefits. He did say on the 6 hour challenge that he has made gowns on in a day for clients.

I thought Jerrel should be going home last week instead of Anthony. And Kara’s pregnancy dress the other week was just awful.

Liked Mondo’s, but Austin should have won this time. Also Mila and Kenley were very good, though Kenley’s looked like a Mondo.

I’m going to miss Anthony’s personality.

Happy to see Mondo win and I thought Rami’s outfit was a very close second. I thought Jerrell’s dress was a hot mess.

Who was shocked Rami went home? Yes, that top with the autopsy style stitching was a bad choice, but the jacket was amazing while Austin’s was way to easy

I was mostly surprised that the 4 whom I considered the “favorites” were all in the bottom four. Rami’s career obviously does not need Project Runway endorsement, which makes it all the more surprising that he lost so early.

I was sad to see Rami go and am very eager to see Michael go, because he annoys me. I am so very glad Jerell beat him. Now that we’re down to the top of the top, it’s just a matter of which really great designer misses the boat on any given night. I frankly thought Austin’s look was better than his counterpart’s (can’t even think of her name; I can see her aesthetic appealing to some but she doesn’t grab me at all).

Clearly I have no fashion sense, as the 4 in the bottom were my favorites! (actually I think it reflects my age and style aesthetic.) Agree the tailoring of Rami’s blouse didn’t do much for his model’s bustline, but the blue jacket was beautiful.

Jerell’s looks are just hot messes to me, so I clearly don’t get the love.

Rami’s shirt was really bad, but the jacket looked nice.

I thought austins shirt was one of the ugliest unfashionable things I’ve ever seen… and those pants… They loved them… but I wouldn’t be caught dead in something like that.

I actually liked jerrel’s coat and michaels coat. They were similar but different and I doubt he tried to copy him… they both bought practically the same fabric at the store and had the same color scheme from the very beginning. I hated the buttons on Jerrell’s sweater under the coat.

Kara’s outfit was plain but i liked it. Kenley’s I thought was absolutely ridiculous. I don’t know anyone that would have been caught dead in that thing.

Hoping the ridiculousness from that episode just fuels the fire in Mondo and Austin and that they get game totally on! While I didn’t care for Austin’s pants, I thought the jacket and shirt were adorable AND TOTALLY SPRING! (now I wouldn’t wear it, but there is much on this show I wouldn’t wear).

And God love Kenley and I love her love for color, but while cute from a looking at it point of view, I cannot imagine ANY of those judges being seen out in public wearing that thing!

I thought Michael’s design clearly grew out of his original sketch and was much better than Jerrel’s weird patched together coat. I don’t get Kenley at all, but then again I’m not enamored of the 1940’s. Fashion backwards, for me. Also only to be seen on 2 year olds. I thought Mondo’s design was very 1980’s just like the judges said and I did not appreciate the drama around the decision, but then again I don’t appreciate most of the drama on the show. I’d rather see more on the creative process. I like Isaac’s judging, and find the design commentary to be a strong feature of the show.

I thought Austin’s outfit could have come straight from the costume closet of “The Help”!

Bah! Thought this episode was a ‘throw away’! Nothing worth oohing and aahing over. And Kenley, please go home. If I hear her say “fresh” in regard to her garment again…

I was thinking…it’s Fashion Week in NYC, and they (Project Runway) taped this show in the summer of 2011, presumably to show at Fashion Week…even the Miss Piggy challenge was off calendar (supposed to correspond with the Muppet Movie release - November - as ‘she’ (Piggy) was going to wear the dress during the press junket. I wonder what happened?

Jerrell? Safe? What? That was the clear candidate to auf IMHO. Phooey. The only one that had absolutely no Broadway pop / color / interest.

Agreed Mondo was the clear winner. Loved it!

Even my two fashion heros (Tom and Lorenzo) agree that Michael is fakey and annoying. They are having fun on their website with the allstar show I want Mondo to win, but it seems like the judges are holding out hope for Austin. My two fav remaining personalities ate Mondo and Jerell.

Happy dance for Mondo! I think both his and Austin’s designs were heads above the others. Mila’s was terrible as was Kara - definitely her time to go - she’s been on the bottom it seems every week!

Kenley is so much more likeable this season than her first season. She makes me smile and I have to admit on my own personal level, I’m attracted to the color and patterns she chooses. But her skills and end results are not Mondo/Austin worthy.

When Mondo’s model walked out INSTANTLY I thought ‘eccentric hippie rummage sale’!! The pieces were stupendous. I think Austin would have cried to have a Broadway debut, and part of me wanted him to have the win. Mila and Kara both need to go. I don’t like either of them.

I’m heading to NYC in March to visit my D, and we’re looking for a show to see…this just might be it!

Wow I was surprised to see Mondo score another win!!! Good for him!

Seems that this was not the best night for most of the designers.

What a hoot that Kenley was also on the top after all the other contestants torn apart her work - and wow Isaac really was serious when he told her that she needs to break away from her usual work. I think it was that statement by him that took the win away from her.

Sort of surprised that Mila left though I thought her outfit was very severe. But Jerell’s was kind of gaudy to me.
