<p>I enjoyed seeing casual Heidi at the beginning of the show when they were previewing the top 20 - when she broke out in song - maybe her and Seal do duets at the house. :)</p>
<p>I liked Bert’s dress, but would have liked it more if it was 4 inches longer. It was just too short!</p>
<p>I don’t believe Anya learned to sew a few months ago. Pants are incredibly hard to create if you don’t understand the tips and techniques. The poof in the front was weird, but overall she nailed the length and way they fit in proportion and length, overall.</p>
<p>I wondered if the pants were being worn backwards. The poof in the front and the center back zipper put that thought in my head.</p>
<p>I believe they replay the previous week’s episode just before the new episode on Thursdays.</p>
<p>I wonder if on PR you would be allowed to take off your own pants and use them as a pattern. That’s what I’d do if I had to make pants for the first time. I’ve only ever sewn flannel pajama pants and even with a pattern and an elastic waistband, they were ill-fitting.</p>
<p>My issue w Anya’s top is that she just cut the arms & bottom from what she was wearing and shaped the back. She did not make it different - it was still recognizable as her pj’s. In prior years, they have criticized other contestants for that sort of ‘slide by’.</p>
<p>I’m part of the group of people who used to love the show and is now refusing to watch after last years ending. I can’t support a show that made someone who makes puke colored grannie panties as their winner. Glad to know I’m not the only one.</p>
<p>I had a conversation about this same thing with my D. Can I watch a show that would make Gretchen the winner with the lamest clothes, ever? Don’t forget - not just one pair of those granny panties, either! </p>
<p>We have decided to watch the whole season, but not the finale this year. It’s often that we don’t like the winner, but we like the steps getting up to that point.</p>
<p>So happy to find this thread. Over the past week or so, Lifetime was replaying several past years’ episodes, so I have re-watched probably four years’ worth. (I mean, really, what else is on TV right now? And it’s 107 here in Texas today, so might as well watch TV.) Over the weekend, I re-watched the Gretchen travesty. Those colors she used are still hideous and the granny panties are still stupid-looking.</p>
<p>However . . . Mondo has gotten lots more press than she has, in the time since then. If anyone watched the one-hour “casting call” special before the first new episode last week, Mondo was there (along with Seth Aaron, Leanne, Laura) was one of the casting judges. Didn’t see Gretchen anywhere in there. Yich!</p>
<p>I liked Bert for the win, at least from the ones they chose as the top three. But I thought the white dress with the black buttons was the coolest, so my thought is they are “hiding” some of the designers at first, like they usually do.</p>

I agree with you. I definitely thought that Viktor’s summery, very wearable dress was the best. I do have a soft spot for Bert though, but I thought his dress was way too short.</p>
<p>I finally watch the pre-show last night where you see the designers’ interviews. Did anyone else catch how Mondo was a preliminary judge? No sign of ‘granny panty’ Gretchen anywhere! Some hope is restored.</p>
<p>So far, not too impressed with many of the people, surprised they had so little inspiration at the pet shop. Oliver seems a stand-out. I also liked the bird seed dress; it was a beautiful shape.</p>
<p>liked last night’s show… cant quite figure out oliver’s accent…in the little interview thing last night he said he was born in ohio?? lived there 16 years then went to europe…accent a bit over the top for someone born and raised here?..think i liked the bird seed dress better than oliver’s last night .</p>

<p>Bird seed dress should have won. Olivier used dog bedding for his top, so how is that any less “cheating” than Josh C. using the fabric from a dog umbrella? Even so, Josh C. was too emotional and not good enough of a designer, so not exactly sad over his auffing. Bert, for as good as he was last week, was a big lazy jerk this week; he’d better get it together. I still think Julie and Fallene are going to pull it together at some point and be in the top. Did you see the previews for next week? Designing things for performers on stilts?!!! Even Heidi comes out on stilts; wonder how she learned how to walk in them?</p>
<p>In the casting interview, they told Oliver that they loved his accent, so I guess it’s working for him.
My all-time favorite was Laura Bennett…I would happily wear everything she designed. I was disappointed to learn that she’s gone back to architecture.</p>

<p>I agree the birdseed dress should have won. Loved the way he used sunflower seeds for that classy, flattering collar.</p>
<p>The audience at my house loved the birdseed dress and no one liked the winning dress, the shape was all off and even made the skinny model look fat. I wanted to like the ombre, but it was simply not that impressive. When his name was called we assumed he was in the bottom 3. Apparently we were wrong.</p>
<p>I thought Oliver’s dress was really ugly! That top didn’t fit well at all and I thought it clashed with the colors in the skirt.</p>
<p>Loved the birdseed dress and also loved the one with the black circle skirt and the midriff-baring top made from aquarium gravel.</p>
<p>I was a big fan of the bird seed dress, too. I liked the aquarium gravel dress too, but I’m glad that designer didn’t win - did you see him on the show earlier bragging how he was going to win the challenge?</p>
