I have dealt with a “Ken” at work (his real name was John) and he was intimidating and quite frightening. There were times that Ken said things that made my blood boil.

I really liked the white collection as well, and honestly didn’t think this weeks winning collection was anything worth gushing over the way the judges did. Hmmmm.

Personal favorite right now is Dom. She is very talented and has a cute personality too. Sorry, but I still don’t like Kate or her designs. I find them somewhat trite.

Another vote for the white collection. And Bradon was my top pick for the 4th time out of 5 challenges. But of course he can’t win them all, or it wouldn’t be much of a show. It was interesting that Bradon said to Sue after elimination that he was hoping to partner with her in a future challenge. Hmmm … maybe some foreshadowing for close to the end where some of the designers return to help out.

Finally Miranda made something different - with no bare midriff.

I did not agree with Heidi that the construction of the ‘bust area’ of Jeremy’s white gown was flattering. To me, the gown was just ok overall.

I predict that Tim will use his save when one of the consistently top designers (Bradon, Dom, Kate) must be eliminated due to an unfinished garment or similar technical problem.

Please, no more unconventional challenges!!

You should read the Tom and Lorenzo blog. Their recaps of PR are hilarious. They’re convinced that the judges are willfully ignoring the obvious (that Bradon’s work is the best by far) because they want Kate to be a frontrunner. Part of me wants to agree. They call Helen “Afterschool Special” and the departed Sandro “Freddie Mercuryovich”.

This is seeming more obviously ‘scripted’ every week. I’m pretty sure no designer ever would actually stick that glue stuff all over a garment. Justin was in the spotlight throughout the show, beginning with Ken declaring him his BFF then his Kum Bah Ya moment around the glampfire. Don’t get me wrong–I like Justin. I just feel the producers really played me for a fool this week.

I thought it was touching. But I think that if it wasn’t being played for drama, the woman with the tent dress would have gone home. I do think lots of the looks were pretty and I loved the dress with the writing. That guy seems so sweet.

The yellow tent-on-a-belt dress should have gone home. I could have whipped up that dress in an hour, with time left over to dye it, and I can barely sew a straight seam.

I liked the top two outfits this week.

I didn’t expect Tim to use his save so early in the season. I hope he doesn’t regret using it.

On the glue gun “lace” stuff . . . in the workroom, when Justin originally showed Tim some of the lace, it actually looked very pretty. You could see it being used as a lace overlay or a lace insert. The end result was not that great; it did look frothy, as one judge said. If Justin had kept the lace flat, it would have looked better.

That being said, even though his dress wasn’t great, it had a TON more work to it than Karen’s “broken egg tent dress.” She should have gone home.

The thing that struck me was in the back room after the elimination (but before Tim’s appearance) was how QUIET that room was, when they were all hugging Justin. That was one of the most sincere moments of the whole show, I think.

Alexander should have won last night; that weird outfit Alexandria made did not fit the description for the challenge.

I agree with the above poster. I thought that Alexander or Jeremy should have won. While Alexandria’s jacket was interesting, I thought the pants were hideous and thought her model looked weird also. Interesting also that Tim used his save last night. While I like Justin, the dress was tacky and looked poorly made. I’m never a fan of the exposed leg look, Angelina Jolie withstanding. I think that it was a concept that ran away with itself.
Karen’s was also horrible. It looked like something worn to a toga party in college… like a beach cover-up paired with cowboy boots. It might have been a bit more successful if she hadn’t used the belted shoulder strap. Kate also had a strange creation… didn’t get where that fit in with the challenge at all. Ken’s dress wasn’ that bad-looking but as I turned in a bit late, I had trouble figuring out the fabric. It almost looked like it was velvet which would have been really bad decision, especially so heavy on the top.

I’m glad Tim saved Justin, he should not have been the one eliminated last night. While I didn’t like how his dress turned out, I love the concept and I applaud him for truly thinking outside the box.

I am insulted by every word that comes out of Ken’s mouth. This is a throwback to his tantrums and tirades in previous episodes.

I’m disappointed that Tim used his “safe” card this week.

I hated the winning “look”.

I liked the ‘trees in the night’ dress, I have shot photos of trees in the night and this look, for me, really worked.

I want to be WOWED soon.

I would love to see an entire season where they use the exact same challenges from a much earlier season, but with new designers/contestants. I’d like each episode to end with a side-by-side comparison of the winning and losing designs from both seasons. It would also be pretty interesting if the winning and losing designers for each challenge were on the judging panel for the new season’s duplicate challenge.

My online program guide described last night’s episode as having a “shocking elimination” . . . ??? I was sure it was going to be Bradon. But, no, it was Miranda. And the only thing I find shocking about her elimination is that it didn’t happen weeks ago!

Meanwhile, Tim described this season’s contestants as the most talented group they’ve ever had on Project Runway . . . so help me out here: is my memory failing or is his? I can’t remember any season as depressing as this one. It’s like coming back week after week just to watch a slow motion video of a car crash. I can’t stop watching . . . but I always regret it afterwards.

I missed a few seasons. I had forgotten that the looks that I hate are the ones the judges love.

As far as the shoe challenge, I thought several of the boots/shoes would have looked best with jeans - the designers may have, too - but few can make jeans (seems like I remember someone doing it.)
