<p>My advice is listen to the other person. Get to know them and then ask her friends what she thinks about you. If you get the " your like her best guy-friend response," then she isn’t interested. But I mean what are you looking for a real love interest or just some high school crush that will last for two weeks because you need a date for the prom?</p>

<p>i live UC_Davis’s advice, i know a few of my friends got asked by people they didn’t like. and if it had been cleared by me or any of my other friends, we would have advised the guy not to ask and they would have been spared the pain and embarrassment of rejection. but that can also work in the reverse too…</p>

<p>if you’re a guy and asking a girl to prom, i recommend going all out and being extremely creative. no girl (except for a real b****) could reject a guy who spent a lot of time preparing to ask her or just plain embarassed himself to ask her.</p>
