Ok so our prom is this thursday, yes i know, kinda early, but w/e…

So I’ve spent a total of $514, is it me or does it seem quite excessive?

That’s really early, ours isn’t until the end of next month.

it is expensive, but it can get much much worse. I mean if you add up the ticket, dress/tux, dinner, limo, hotel, corsage/butenere(spelled that wrong), hair/makeup, it can add up to almost $700 or $800 dollars. This girl in my class spent $500 on dress and our limo bus is $61 a person and tickets are $55 and dinner is $40 per person… so I see what you mean.

Our prom is March 31st!!!

You’re lucky you have prom to look forward to, I just have my 8th Grade Draduation dance…

No, considering all the expenses that come with prom, I don’t think you’ve spent an excessive amount.

Have fun at your prom!

ahh i just got my dress today!
ours isnt for awhile tho…and i dont have a date yet which sucks.

last year prom really sucked for me, i lost a really good friend because of stupid prom table seatings.

at my scchool prom= DRAMMMMMAAAAA and i hate it.

Wow… your prom is really early! Ours isn’t until the end of MAY.

…I don’t plan on going to prom. $500+, in my opinion, is too much for a few hours of enjoyment. I’d rather go on a backpacking trip in Europe.

Prom was a huge waste of money. I’m so glad high school is over. :D

I spent ~$400 on prom, and I went without a date (as did most of my friends). It was fun getting dressed up, but prom probably wasn’t worth the money.

Your prom is on Thursday? That’s really weird.

Your prom is early.

its on a thursday because friday theres no school, and its early because my school is ■■■■■■■■ basically we have the first prom and the last graduation in our whole school district…talk about dumb…and I forgot to add in the flowers for my date so thats about an extra 20-30dollars…

either way I kinda agree with what someone else said, after spending all that cash I wish I would’ve done something else-because knowing my school; prom will turnout horribly the after party will get raided by the cops and everyone will hate each other, and we have to see each other for 2more months…

Our prom isn’t until May sometime. I’m not going. Too expensive, and I know I won’t enjoy it anyways.

Don’t most people bring dates to the prom? At my school, a lot say they aren’t, but as the date gets closer, they all get more frantic and end up finding a “safety” (wow, been thinking about colleges too often…) date to go with.

My prom is really, really late this year. Early May.

Coincidentally, it’s the Friday before AP exams. Which also means that senior skip day (traditionally the Monday after prom) is going to be sucked into the exam void. F-.

I really like dances, since I don’t get dressed up very often (I’m just not a skirt-and-make-up kind of girl on normal days), but it does get expensive. Ebay is great for cheap dresses, though.

My prom is in may and even though I’m a junior, I’m going. (It’s the senior prom but a lot of my friends are seniors so I’m allowd to go.) I picked out my dress and its gorgeous. I won’t put the price on here since you said 500 is way to much but it’s at neiman marcus. i <3 that store. Then it’s $50 for dinner and i guess my date is going to pay for the limo. I might chip in though. I always feel bad about those things.

I think I spent like $300 last year, and I just went with a group of friends.

This year I’m pretty sure I’ll have a date…so that might help defray some of the costs…haha prom sucks for guys (monetarily).

My prom is in late May, and I’ve had a back up date since summer. Just in case I don’t get asked by a guy, I already have a plan B. lol

All the other girls are sweating it out, and I’m not worrying about it at all. :D
