Prospective student of "Bishan" JC

Hi, Singaporean CC users. I have graduated from a neighbourhood sec sch and I’m going to attend “Bishan” JC next year as I was accepted through DSA Band (I play the Tuba anyways). For those who have graduated from this school, I have a few questions to ask regarding the school.

How’s the school culture like? Is it like a super-tough, competitive and dog-eat-dog society as they say?

How are the students like? Nerdy, arrogant and fake as people say or not?

How rigorous is the curriculum?

Are the teachers very helpful like those in neighbourhood schools or indifferent as they say?

Are my chances going to an Ivy increased by attending this school?

Thanks.

Bishan JC? Got such a thing? Ivies are tough for anyone, though I don’t think the adcoms are able to tell the difference between RJC and BJC. (but as it is likely that the Ivies get a good number of applicants from Sg, they might expect to see that you attended RJ, etc).

Definitely do well in A levels lor!

“Bishan” JC

I see what you did there :).

I’ve heard that they give good guidance counselling when it comes to applying overseas. So that’s probably a plus point compared to other JCs.

ok… "b"jc=rjc right? haha

fiercely intense… tons of opportunities there but you’ve to take advantage of them
