PSAT 2011 Wednesday Answer Thread

just curious, why are you aiming as high as a 230 instead of just over 220?

Mascara at least your parents actually pay attention to your education :p

My mom doesn’t. At all. I don’t think its possible she could play less of a role.

Bioboy, I missed two on Math as well. They both involved stupid mistakes such as dividing two by one incorrectly. I thought 2/1 equalled 2.

i guess that was a stupid comment? i just didn’t realize they could play taylor swift during the exam… oh well.

The answer was flamboyant, right? :confused:
@Bioboy12: Yikes! I would be upset, too. Did you do better on other sections?

The problem with PSAT is that I’m so used to the curves for SATs. So I automatically think, minus 4 in CR is a great thing! No. Haha.

Haha Overide same situation here. My Mom doesn’t even know I took the PSAT today LOL…

Wait, so -2 on Math is almost certainly a 72?

If so, I’m really devastated. All my other answers, including those for CR and Writing, agree with the answers on CC.

@solferino,

doesn’t 2/1 = 2…LOL? xD

@Mascara,

Probably -1 on writing, and -4 on CR. Do I still have a chance bro? :/

@Overide:
That’s really good that you’re self-motivated, then. I know that if I was left alone, I’d be the worst student ever. I need constant motivation and pressure to perform well.

@spkrap322:
Because my dad’s friend has some loser kid who got a 231, and all they can talk about is “Look, ----- got a 231, he’s soooooo smart!” It’s a bit frustrating, because that kid can’t form a coherent sentence around me.

@Bioboy12:
Um, that seems like a CR72, M80, W79, according to last year’s curve. Which is a 231. So how about you stop flipping. D:

@Bioboy

I mean that I thought 2/1 = 1 :)

@solferino,

Yeah -2 on Math will be pretty harsh. Sucks right? I feel ya. :(

@Mascara,
Haha I wish I got M80…I got like M72 IF I’m lucky and I didn’t screw up on anything else. :confused: DERP.

I got… a -3 on math due to stupid mistakes.

There goes any chance of a national merit scholarship.

^ -2 on W is going to be devastating. :confused: It wasn’t a hard section… I just second guess so much.

Who wants to form a pity group…

I do! I also missed two on the real SAT. That cost me a 2400.

My -1 or -2 on W is scaring me too… pity group. It’s my score, and I want it now!

Overide,

Since we live close to each other, we should get together and cry. Just cry. Sound good? We can fly Mascara over from his/her state to join us in our pity group. :P

@Override

Really? What state are you from?

Me, Overide, and Aasdfhjls12321 are from Maryland. xD

God I hope we can come up with a freaking decision for the thieves question…

I’m a girl, and yes. Let’s go. I’m literally sleepless in Seattle right now.
Reaaaally bad pun.
Can we just go “The Perfect Score” on ETS…? Break in, get our scores?

And I hate the long wait. D: At least for October, we only have to wait two/three weeks! What’s up with the two month wait? Eesh. All the waiting takes my focus off of school. I bombed my bio and apush tests during the Oct. 1 test, couldn’t concentrate the week after, and NOW there’s the PSAT. Whoopdedoooo.

(edit)
Wow… from Maryland? D: Here I was feeling bad about living in a 220 cutoff state.

Using last years curve and some rough estimation of how many I got wrong, my score would be a 219. The cutoff for my state was 214 last year.

I still have some chance I guess. I have room for about two more wrong, according to last years curves and last years cutoff.

Also I live in Florida, it was someone else who lived in Maryland. I think they had like a 224, by their estimation.
