Psat 2012 saturday

@siemprell For some reason I was drawn to the one with the semicolon I think. I think I chose that over the other options because I thought the others had too many or too few colons. I’m not very good at grammar though so don’t trust me here. I just go by the gut on that section (will have to actually learn it by the time real SATs come around this spring)

guys what would you say for
4 wrong CR
2 wrong math 1 grid in skip
one wrong writing?

@andrew i’m not very good either… But i read something last night that said it… Anyways, i might have gotten that wrong.

for the question about the painting in the grammar section, was had depicted B or was just depicted B

I put had depicted but all my friends are saying depicted …

@Harvardjunkie123, 215-225 or so?
(Based on last year’s curve you would score 218: 71 CR, 72 M, 75W)

haha idk about everyone else but i put depicted

^ i don’t remember what i put >.>
But estimate here:
CR: ~5 wrong 1 omit
Math: 1wrong3omit
Writing: 1-2wrong
Anyone?

i put depicted… it cant depict only in the past on not in the present

Someone in the previous page said that ‘depict’ should be in the pluperfect form so ‘had depicted’ ?

depicted. no doubt.

do you guys remember any other cr questions?

What you guys get for the last grid in?

What was the answer to the math question about:
1)circle in the square
2)parallel lines and you were given 105 i believe
3)the one asking integer, 36000*.8^n (half the original)

CR: ~5 wrong 1 omit
Math: 1wrong3omit
Writing: 1-2wrong
Estimation Anyone?

@timewizard

 1. no idea
 2. i think it was 60? I don’t really remember
 3. Should be 4.

Hey that math question about chairs was 2/3 right?

Really? I got
1)5
2)30
3)14

cirlcle in the square where it asked for coordinate u was 5

5

180-105-55 = 20

360009x(.8^4) = less than 16000

i put 2/3 for the ted and ron chair question

for the circle in the square the answer was u=5. they gave u the 30 degree angle, then if you drew a straight line from the corner of the square to the x-axis, you had a triangle. The hypotenuse of that triangle was 10, since they gave you the radius of 5. Then it becomes a 30-60-90 triangle. Since hypotenuse was 10, height was 5. That was the y value, or in this case, the u value. So u=5
