@classof2017 the khan academy stuff can never hurt, any practice is good practice. I’m planing on using it myself, as long as its not too complicated to do so
so far I’ve only seen evidence that directly disproves the TASP conspiracy…for the other PSAT scores, who knows what criteria TASP uses to send emails

Wait, so does this mean that if one scores 96% or above as indicated on the PSAT report tomorrow, he or she qualifies for NM Commended? I heard that commended is top 4% of NATION, not within state. Could someone clarify?
Well, I don’t know if you guys were following this thread back in December when all the TASP speculation occurred for the first time, but there is a lot of evidence in those pages where people with very low PSAT scores (like 165 range) who were not minorities and put down science majors got the TASP emails. In addition, there was also proof based on people getting their scores sent to different emails than the previous year even as their CB email stayed the same and some other evidence. So, my guess is that they used both years data.
@foliontai this actually makes sense because maybe didn’t want to totally rely on new test?
Honestly guys we’re getting our scores in a few hours so no need to beat yourselves up trying to figure out this TASP thing

Oh yeah I totally forgot about the email scenarios…but then again some supported the TASP conspiracy, others didn’t so I think you’re right

I wasn’t very active, but I did follow the thread and was actually one of the people who got the email to a different email. They used my email from this year but my name from last year. Overall though there seems to be more evidence confirming the use of last years scores

Regarding the TASP debate, I find it amusing that so many are convinced that we will “know for sure” tomorrow. Really? I think it’s pretty safe to assume that there will be data to support both sides. I’m much more interested in cutoff predictions. I mean given the new scale and the concordance tables there might be enough speculation to keep this thread going until September. I’m setting the over/under at 189,000 posts.

All 99th percentile, so I’m very happy!
ETA: My situation can’t prove anything about the TASP email unfortunately. I got it this year but I was in the 99th percentile both this year and last year, so no extrapolations can be made from that.

Okay so I don’t have the time to read 20 new pages lol… but I do have a comment/questions regarding TASP. I assume this means nothing, but I got an email from Duke today about a summer program thing (first email from Duke I’ve gotten). It never mentioned TASP though… so I’m clueless if it means anything. Does anyone know?
I’m pretty new to national merit, are the cut offs released later on in the year? Would it be possible to estimate them once everyone has their scores tommorrow?
are the scores released at 12:00 PST?
