**PSAT Discussion Thread 2015**

Is the TASP email a recruitment email (like automatic acceptance) or just an advertisement to apply?

Let me follow my delusions without scrutiny :frowning:

To my knowledge not one person received a TASP invite without having taken the PSAT as a sophomore. That’s why all along I believed that the TASP emails were based on 2014 scores. In fact, I posted that about 1,000 posts ago.

Could those of you who find it fascinating to discuss possible conspiracy theories/accusations of lying involving TASP and College board please make your own thread for this?

I think some of the TASP emails are just delayed, that’s all.

@mathyone never, the world must know

Their website did say that they send emails to “rising seniors”… but who knows LOL

Have another friend whose parents got divorced has new name and old name is tasp email so def last yr

why is it not a possibility that TASP looked at this years and last years scores and if you did well in one or both, you were nominated? Considering the convincing arguments from both sides, this could be a possibility.

mind. blown.

I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before really. Now I’m kind of more exited for my score since I have literally no idea what it may be

The program only has so many spots

App is extensive essays basically all thousand or more word essays so they aren’t gonna nominate way more ppl be use couldn’t go through

@pokemon1 but there’s not really much of an arguement that they used this years scores besides some people getting an invitation with lowers scores. I think that can be explained by having a lower pool to chose from, minorities, etc.

i bet the test will be up at 5am EST. Just like the SAT.

@wwerfgjt The TASP email was addressed to me by first name only, so unless your friend changed his first name I don’t think that he’s correct.

His parents fought a ton and he was a junior but he took his moms name so he changed his first name weird I know but that makes me think last yr

Never put a qualifier on “unique”.

My s did get the telluride email. His 2014 score was 203, with a 57 in writing (92 percent). He is not a URM and he did not put down interests in any humanities majors. We live in a selective state. Not sure that clarifies.

Will you guys use Khan Academy’s personalized study material? It seems interesting to already have a plan based on your PSAT but IDK if I should just self study using the blue book.

I mean like John smith jr. Not like a junior in High school
