PSAT scores are ready

ugh… i did horribly!!! 213 in california.
I’m like a sophomore/junior because technically I’m in 10th grade, but I’m graduating next year. This was the year that counted for national merit and I needed the scholarship money (I’m graduating a year early).
Well, a 213’s not going to get me anywhere!

^Love your username!

So mad…school got the scores on the 8th but they’re making us wait until the 20th!!! blaaaah!!

I feel the same way… the school gets them, and then mails them home to us! I feel like camping out in the counseling center and snatching them up!!! My antics have gotten to the point where even my usually indulgent parents are getting tired of my excited dance to the mailbox and defeated limp back to the house.

Me: whispering “Guess what, mom?”
Mom: What sweetie?
Me: I might have gotten my PSAT scores today!!! Isn’t that exciting.
Mom:…Yes dear.

Good luck to you :)

Yeah our school mails them out too but they haven’t yet. I just emailed my counselor and got mine. 237! in michigan

UGH. I got a 215. SO MAD. I got a 222 as a sophomore…yeah, I don’t even know what happened. I live in Ohio…

Hey, I live in ohio too and got a 212, dissapointed, anyway, my score report says my selection index is in the 99th percentile, i thinkthats nationally. Last year the ohio qualifying score was 214, but a 212 would have made it any other year. Do you think it will make it this year? Is there any way to find out? The woman at nmsfqt told me that you dont find out until september, is that true?

ComeOnHarvard, I’m praying to God that we both make it!

I’m feeling the cutoff should be around 212ish this year. And yes, I believe we don’t find out about National Merit until fall of next year. I’m keeping my fingers crossed…

225!

-6 CR 69
-1 WR 76
-0 M 80

None omitted.
There’s no way the Texas cut off could possible raise 7 points is there? It was 219 last year which is up like 4/5 points from the year before.

^ You will be a NMSF.

I’m in WA. Last year was 220. Will I get in?

Does anyone have an idea of the cut off for Michigan? I was pretty borderline…

The trend was 209 for 4 years and last year it went up to 210. Is it likely that it will jump again?

Does anyone know what the required score was for the 99th percentile in the nation last year, because if we figure out last years and this years min scores for the 99th percentile in the nation, we can see whether 99th percentile scores for states generally went up or down (hopefully down) this year. If anyone could find out last year’s itd b great, aslo i know that this year it is no higher than 212, what i got. If anyone got in the 208-211 range, post your percentile so we can figure out the min. The states generally all trend in the same direction, so the national trend could be a very good indicator of the state trends.

237! 80M, 80W, and 77CR. Definitely didn’t expect to do so well, considering that I only got a 190 last year.

Wooohooo! 225!

-0 CR 80
-2 M 74
-2 W 71

I’m from NC, so I’m pretty safely NMSF!!

@HSClass2013- It’s funny that you missed seven total and I missed four total and we have the same score. Curves were weird this year!

waywarddaughter: hahahaa you too  SO. NERVOUS.

@bekahshoemake
It is rather convenient that my strengths/weaknesses line up nicely with the curves xD
Congrats on your reading score, that section is impossible I swear! I never know all the vocab words and a lot of the time I can’t pick the “best” answer out of the 2-3 possible answers on the passages under the condensed time. I think I can improve my score a bit though on the SAT.

199!!! :((((((((((( Is it still possible to make Commended scholar?

-3 CR 74
-3 M 70
-2 W 71

215… with 3 bubbling errors and 4 silly mistakes. Would have qualified for National Merit this year except I’m a sophomore, so hopefully I’ll do even better next year.

Congrats to all you (most likely) NMSFs, especially blerb795… That’s awesome improvement! My cousin got hers today. Of course I didn’t get mine. ComeonHarvard, I hope it goes down too, but since I live in California, that’s extremely unlikely. I feel bad for kids taking the test 10 years from now-- the CA cutoff will probably have gone up to 230…
