PSEO as a Sophomore

Hello all,

Firstly, I apologize if this is the wrong section to post this in. I’m new here (first time poster) but this seems to be the most eligible forum.

I am currently a freshman. I would consider myself fairly intelligent, and I plan on taking a number of AP classes. I plan on being a computer science major in college, and I would love to be able to attend a competitive school like MIT. So, I read up, and found out that MIT, and many competitive colleges, don’t seem to offer credit for AP computer science. Because of this, and my interest in the field, I would rather take computer science classes at my local university (University of Iowa), as this would probably teach me more and look more impressive to colleges. Next year, my only AP classes will be AP European History and AP Biology. So, it seem that I could handle Computer Science I at the university. Am I deceived, or is this too much of a workload? Will this work through the Post Secondary Enrollment Options, as I will only be a sophomore?

Thank you

My local college only does junior/seniors so sophomore would not work for me, I’d look into U of I, its probably on their website! Also, if your like me and want to go to liberal arts college for engineering (Harvey Mudd) then you gotta realize that you have to focus on everything, so keep your colleges in mind when choosing classes, otherwise do what your doing: Doing what you love!

Oh, and if you can’t get transportation to the University through your school/ parents…then your stuck because most sophomores can’t drive at the very beginning of the school year
