Has anyone here applied to Shreyer, scheduled at interview, and not been accepted to UP yet? am I the only one who’s in this boat?
qwertyuiopp1. I am the same. I applied 10/20 and I’m still waiting too. Interview is Jan 23
My S didn’t apply to Shreyer because he didn’t get accepted yet- and he keeps getting emails to apply to them by the 15th.
The system was down early this morning- but no changes AGHHHHH
Same situation as crazycat220. My S hasn’t applied to Schreyer either because he hasn’t received an acceptance yet (even though he has pretty good stats 33ACT 3.97GPA AP and dual enrollment). He’s wants to here from Penn State but he’s already been accepted by his first choice, so he’s not stressing. Penn is closer to home than his first choice, so I’m hoping he hears soon before his mind is set.
hear
I applied to Schreyer ( and UP) before November 30th. I have not heard back yet either. My Schreyer Interview is tomorrow!
for those of you guys who got a response already, how long was your status at “your application is under review” and are there any other steps in the status after that?
@asaberian … My daughter applied sept.1. Once all her materials were received her status showed that she was under review from sept14- dec16 when she received an acceptance message. Good luck!! Hope you hear soon!!
This is so crazy! Doesn’t it bother you guys knowing that you’re going on interview for Schreyers, yet you may not even be accepted into Penn State UP? I don’t know, that’s just me. But it almost seems like it could be a waste if one goes on an interview, yet doesn’t end up getting accepted. UGHHH
Does anyone that applies to Schreyer get an interview or are the top candidates invited to interview?
@pitt2021 If you applied before November 30, 2015, you get the option to go on an interview for Schreyer. It’s not mandatory nor will it negatively impact your application if you choose to not go on the interview
Let us know how the interview went! Good luck
My son found out this morning that he got into the College of engineering (biomedical engineering major) at university park! So excited for him! Best of luck to those still waiting!
I have been accepted at College of Engineering (Computer Science) at University Park. But I am in a dilemma which one to join. Umass-amherst or Penn-UP for undergrad in CS. People say that both schools are good. Indeed they are…but still the question remains which one is better for undergrad? (keeping in mind job placement rate)
@bilal11 My nephew goes to UMass and loves it. That being said while I do not know the job placement rates for either school. From what I have been reading about job placement in general. PSU might be stronger. Also, I am not sure what your financial situation is…If one is cheaper. That may make a difference to you.
Congrats!
Rumor has it that this week they’re focusing on grad applications and next week they’ll focus on undergrad, which makes sense since most people find out right around MLK Day.
Don’t think that is accurate @tmperini. Pretty sure graduate applications are not reviewed by the same folks who process undergraduate applications. It’s a different office, I believe.
Hi everyone, I have a question. Okay, this is @dtheman17, but I forgot my password, so new account. Anyway, I got accepted into Penn State Altoona last month. Would it give me a chance or would it make a big difference if I got a recommendation from a previous penn state alumni, my Economics teacher, saying I should go to UP.
@dtheman172 sorry this isn’t answering your question but I know you said UP was a reach for you and I’m also in the same boat, still waiting for a decision… Would you mind sharing your stats?
@dtheman172 Will not matter at all unfortunately. PSU doesn’t even read letters of recommendation and they don’t consider them whatsoever. Your only option at this point would be to call and see if you can be reconsidered for DUS and summer session at UP. If you’ve already done that, then nothing else you can do.
