Question: if you applied to a competitive major and are denied, then call and they say you have good stats but they had a ton of applicants for that major and they will reconsider you for DUS. They tell you that you will know within 10 days(was told this on 1/22). Am I put into the same pot with all the other priority applications or am I switched to a different group because I am being reconsidered?
Accepted after reconsideration. Denied from Smeal last Friday, accepted Dus fall this morning. I definitely recommend calling not emailing, it’s more personal and speeds up the process.

So I have submitted my application the first week of September and still haven’t heard back. I am boarder line for summer but don’t they have to let me know by January 31st on their decision? Does anyone know if they make certain people wait longer if there still considering them for summer?
@myacceptmy3 Are you checking the portal? If you do not hear anything by tomorrow 1/31, I would definitely give them a call. You’ll probably get a decision tonight. Anyone who applied before Nov 30 is supposed to get a decision by January 31.

@tucge422 - regarding emailing admissions to be reconsidered - I would definitely call admissions and ask an admissions couselor live. A few questions. 1. Did your profile change from accepted to the branch campus back to “under review”. My sons did after we made the changes. 2. Did you change anything about your application - if you got into a certain major at the branch when you asked to be reconsidered you are probably going to have to change some things like asking like changing major to DUS and will to start at UP in Summer. If you did not make any changes but just ask to be reconsidered, I don’t think anything will change with your acceptance.
@nittanynation01 - the way they worded it was that we would here about the reevaluation in about 2 weeks. So I don’t think it is a specific date just when they expect to decide. Its been a week since we called and my son’s profile changed back to under review
I’m so anxious right now because all my Early Action results were so brutal and PSU is my last hope. I applied in September and haven’t got my decision yet. Last year my brother got his offer from PSU 2 weeks after he applied. What happened to the admission office this year?
I applied to Smeal in mid November and have not heard back yet. A few of my friends applied to Eberly and have already heard back. Has anyone else who applied before the deadline not heard back yet?

@Shoelover18 I applied the day applications opened, and I checked the portal and it STILL says my application is under review.
I couldn’t get any sleep last night because every time I closed my eyes I dreamed of the portal!! aghh
They promised decisions by today. Now what? I would hope that they would post an explanation in the portal, or send out an email. But nothing…
So I applied way before November 30th and have recieved no news today. Did admissions just forget to update my status? Should I be sending them an email?
I find it really strange that even a university cannot keep a deadline, even though they promised decisions by Jan. 31. It is also making me really nervous because I haven’t heard back yet.
Seems like a lot of people don’t have their decision yet who applied before Nov 30. Hopefully we’ll get some news tonight at midnight
