General Comments: So excited to go to PSU. My family are big Penn State people. This is my first choice!!
@kdurham I don’t think this is the formal definition about Penn State’s rolling decision definition, but judging from what we’ve read here it’s this: “Admissions comes in each morning and rolls a bunch of applications around the floor before choosing a few to evaluate.” No, seriously, it’s hard to determine (see the thread: “Rolling admission and this terrible waiting!”). First off, beating the November 30 deadline is (was) important. Some of the very high stats and the very low stats were given notice quickly. Other than that, ‘rolling admissions’ is a misnomer. Almost everyone who applied prior to November 30 has received a response, but not in the ‘rolling admissions’ timeframe. Perhaps they treat post-Nov. 30 applications on a more traditional ‘rolling admissions.’ Good luck. Stay patient. And get @jlhpsu to root for you (she’s the lucky charm, and initiator, of this thread)

@KR1997 What do you mean ‘wait listed’? Penn State doesn’t wait list. Do you mean you got placed at a branch campus?
Here is the common data set that gives admission stats from last year and last year they wait listed zero students. So if you did get wait listed, that’s completely new!
Hi @jlhpsu…yes they do. My daughter’s BFF got wait-listed because she applied after Nov 30. She was eventually taken off the WL but she already committed to Syracuse. Seen it with my own eyes
That’s interesting @Twinmom2014 ! I always assumed that because the common data set said that they don’t wait list, that meant that they didn’t. HAHAHA…of course we know that things aren’t always as they seem though!

Does anyone know anything about the housing? I’m trying to make decisions about that.
I was accepted into The College of Communications but not the main campus. I’ve seen a lot of people discussing calling to change to DUS in order to be put in the main campus. How do I go about doing this and if I do, would I lose my acceptance to a branch campus?
@rayxx24 Definitely call admissions and ask to be reconsidered either for DUS, or for Communications over the summer. Call Monday. Usually admissions counselors are available after 1PM, but be prepared to wait on hold for a while.
Yes, a friend of my son’s heard back last week. He applied very, very late. He got into Altoona (second choice). I know he wants to be pre-med, but not sure what he actually applied for. He’s very excited. OOS.
@kelors hey! I’m an aero as well…i was also in the housing situation for a while. i’d like to see if i can help you out with your questions in any way i can!
