<p>So here’s the deal! </p>
<p>I am looking to apply to PhD urban planning and policy for Fall 2013 admission at University of Texas at Arlington and two other schools (UTA is my preferred choice mainly because of the course syllabi!)</p>
<p>I have publications (co-authored) which are mainly reports (not articles) published under the tutelage of international organisations like REN21, MNRE and BHC. I was wondering, since it is known that having something published provides an edge, if publications such as these (which are not research journals) count?</p>
<p>Besides that, my GRE is 1270 (530v and 740q) and I will be writing IELTS again hoping to match my previous score of 8.5 overall. </p>
<p>Please please please let me know if I the ‘publication’ edge with my applications!</p>
