Would unweighted 4.0 and SAT superscore of 1520 have a decent shot for Trustees scholarship? (Son is a junior.)
Purdue focuses on keeping tuition frozen for everyone so I wouldn’t count on any kind of scholarship. The val of my D’s school with a 4.0 and 1600 didn’t get any scholarship from Purdue, and that was 6 cycles ago when it was less competitive.

Good to know. Those are amazing stats to not get any scholarship. Purdue Engineering sounds like a really good fit for my student but with out of state tuition, it won’t be an option.
Can we talk honors? Son applied RD so wasn’t eligible. I have heard he can still do Goss scholars but some say that is being phased out? Any info? I know providing honors for EA only is a huge incentive for Purdue, but bummed that such a policy means some exceptional students get left out of an honors program. We have honors at UTK, and these sort of programs look amazing-it would be great to have some sort of honors available should we choose Purdue. Is there anything for RD kids to apply to? Son is very focused on research and mentorship and would love a similar opportunity at Purdue.
My understanding is that current students can apply to honors college first semester sophomore year.

DS got accepted for CS major. I dont even know when the results came out but he just checked today & couldnt find any letter. It was just a change in portal, where he also has a admitted student section and an option to accept the offer. I think its weird that we couldnt see any decision message.

My son has decision “Deferred” since Jan but has admitted student section too, what do you mean, was your student able to create account and accept the offer, Does he/she have PUID?
I just realised i have an option to accept my offer? My decison still shows deferred tho.
Yes but to create an account, you need PUID which only students with acceptance has. I tried but cannot create an account to accept an offer without PUID

I don’t believe any acceptance is coming for us now, its going to be waitlist or rejection. It is sad that they show these options and then don’t offer anything
No, imo mojority of CS applicants are still waiting. Like a day or 2 ago many FYE applicants received decisions together on same day.

You are right. Doesn’t have the PUID & status says complete. It is confusing as they have “accept your offer” as a button along with register for admitted students day. Unless you go through those you wont know that it needs more information. So, looks like its not a decision.
These colleges need to have better way to communicate.

if your student is interested in research, start looking at the undergraduate research office in the college of engineering. You can come out of the gate and hop into something. There are several “learn about undergraduate research” events early in every semester. Honors, no honors, if you distinguish yourself in the classroom and lab you’re good to go. opportunities will come.
