Typo, 4.12W
You are actually quite competitve.
Does everyone now have cancel application and the engage tab? I didnât have those yesterday or this morning. But in the last hour do.
I got box, cancel, engage in the last hour
Thanks,
Sharing stats is not very effective if you do not have the school report. Some schools have an unweighted scale of 4.0 and some have a unweighted scale of 5.0; some schools grade out of 100. Weighted scales vary, too. Some schools have very small graduating classes; some have very large classes. Class rank is more indicative to some admissions teams, but not all schools provide class rank. The number of AP and Dual Credit opportunities are different on each campus, as well as the extracurriculars available to students. The reason a school report is sent with your application through your counselor or a school official is so that the admissions team reviewing applications is able to look at a student holistically and in respect to their school and/or in comparison to their academic peers based on what is actually available to them.
I hope it is. I think the engage button is a positive. We have been mirroring your portal changes this week. Son is OOS engineering.
OPINION - âEngageâ could exist for anyone accepted or deferred (who may need to make a decision whether or not they would like to submit a Letter of Continued Interest. They may visit campus or an alternate Purdue location to see if they feel it is worth pursuing further). It may also just exist for all applicants at this point.
The LOCI response we saw yesterday was under a Reply tab. Engage tab only had My events, Visit. Today we have no Reply tab and do have Engage so we shall see tomorrow Inguess.
I agree with that opinion. Iâm fairly confident we are expecting a deferral after the LOCI showed up for us yesterday. OOS engineering here.
what are his stats and major?
I feel if you had a LOCI available at any point, itâs s defer. If change major was there at any point, acceptance, but maybe with 2nd choice (as stated by someone above). If no change major, deny.
But, who knows at this point.
I think all the stats are irrelevant as some schools donât fill there classrooms with the same student, hence the holistic approach.
When the change major option came, the box had returned too, correct?
There are additional factors considered by schools that contribute to decisions beyond stats. Some schools consider parent education levels, military benefits, income, hardships, stated demographics, etc. The admission evaluation process is not clear-cut.
We are the same and also OOS engineering
OPINION - The change major option may exist for someone deferred who may want to be considered admission for something else after their decision. No change major option may just mean that the student was accepted to their first or second choice major and has no need to consider something else; it may also mean their admission was denied. From past experience, to change major after being accepted, one would have to go through the school within the school that the student has been accepted to. It usually is advised against changing majors until after the first semester. (I have two college students currently; one is an OOS Boilermaker. I am on college application season 3). EVERYTHING IS SPECULATION RIGHT NOW.
Engineering (nuclear) 3.87 unweighted, 8 APs, 35 ACT, decent ECs but he wasnât building a nuclear reactor in the basement or anything.
He wasnât? Clearly he was too busy McGuyvering a nuclear submarine.
I know rejection is a part of overall life but I hate knowing anyone feels it during this process.
I donât think the âchange major & appeal requestâ means anything. Since everyone should have the chance to appeal their admission decision, right?
OPINION - If one were to be accepted, they would have no need to âappeal.â âChange majorâ may be in there if they gave you an option to choose another major because they could not admit you to the major you chose.
