But they can still “change major”, those option are in same link.
Sadly just found LOCI in forms things
I edited my response to include “change major” that is paired with “appeal.”
I mean even if you see “change major & location & appeal request”, you can be accepted, or waitlist, or rejected.
OPINION - These are options offered for reconsideration.
OPINION - Options may be offered to someone who has been waitlisted, or deferred.
previous year(2022/2023) application who see “change major” during some specific period are accepted. So I think Purdue do offer major change to all accepted guys.
Which is why all of this is SPECULATION. This wait is hard on kids and parents.
As a mom, I know not all wants come true. I also know that sometimes redirection is the biggest blessing one can experience.
has the residency checklist disappeared for anyone else
This is true, however, for EA they are looking at grades, SATs, and difficulty of courses. You do have a higher chance of getting in as an EA than Regular but this is the risk you take if your scores do not meet the cut line. This process is not personal - it is a cold-hearted numbers game. For a 17-year-old high school student, this may be the first time they have truly been rejected. To that end, remember - it is a numbers game and you will end up where you need to be. Hug them if they get in, are deferred, or rejected. It is going to be okay. Good luck to everyone!
I think everyone’s screens are eventually going to go back to where they were before tomorrow’s decisions come out. I agree with yesterday’s poster who theorized that Purdue is following what the UCs did one year where they do site updates/tests based on decision categories (Admit, Defer, Reject). From all the posts/theories I’ve seen this week, my guess is those who saw their tan box disappear on Monday are admits, those who saw their tan box disappear on Tuesday are defers, and those whose boxes disappeared yesterday are denials. It’s crazy that their IT department can’t update these portals without all us noticing like this and figuring it all out, but it is what it is.
I think we all need to stop fretting at this point and just wait until tomorrow’s decisions come out. My son’s box changed yesterday so looking most likely like a rejection, but oh well. It is what it is, and we just move on and accept it, and acknowledge that we will all end up where we are meant to end up and at a place that is best for us. Good luck to everyone tomorrow and like My-4boysnme just posted, redirection to another college may be the biggest blessing!
It would be fun (might be useful for next year’s applicants) to document what changes each of us saw in the portal, what our prediction was, and what the actual result is, come tomorrow.
My D24’s portal showed the following changes before everything was reversed:
change term link appeared
change major and location and appeal request link appeared
No reply forms tab, no optional forms through link
Has cancel application link
No residency link
My prediction is she is accepted (high stats, applied to college of science, non-CS major so non-impacted).
Additional info: OOS citizen, applied to one major and one location
In about 27 hrs, I will update this to include what her actual result is
Good luck everyone!!
the box changes might be linked to majors as the box change on Tuesday was mostly for engineering applicants
I don’t think so. My son applied Engineering and his box changed on Wednesday.
engineering major, box change last week
I think the biggest tell so far has been whether or not you got the “change major” button
and the LOCI form
wait so if u get the LOCI is it confirmed ur deferred
Nothing is confirmed at all, it just seems like it would point towards that
nothing’s confirmed but it most probably is
And then we have to ask, what does it mean if you got the reply form as a tab in your portal with LOCI or if you only see LOCI once you click the direct link. Same thing?
