OMG! my son got in! applied statistics!! boiler up!
Excited for everyone here!!! Do you think theyâll have spaces left for oos RD fye this year? I know thatâs been an issue in past! Getting nervous! So bummed we couldnât apply during EA.
My DD got this âadmission to Engineering (First Year) in the College of Engineering at Purdue West Lafayette for Fall 2024â
In the Common-App, Her first preference was Computer Engineering, and second preference was Computer Science.
Does this admission decision mean that she did NOT get Computer Engineering/Science? Can somebody please share their knowledge/view on this?
Thanks in Advance!

As the parent of a current FYE Boiler who was deferred last year, deferred does NOT mean rejected at Purdue. Its disappointing not to get in right now, but donât give up on the possibility.
Same boat. OOS. My son applied RD because he didnât get the application submitted in time! Are OOS RD acceptances really low?
Last year was the first cycle that we saw a higher number of students deferred in EA and more students accepted in RD (even without applying EA) so yes, I do think there will be spots this year.
In. OOS Engineering, Honors College.

I was admitted. It can be a safety school contray to what some of you guys say!
D24 accepted, OOS, 30 ACT, 4.3 GPA, English major, Honors College, Emerging Leaders Scholarship - $15,000 per year.
Computer Engineering is in the College of Engineering. All engineering majors start as FYE (First Year Engineering). So your DD got her first preference. CS is not engineering, and is in a different college
Congrats to everyone who got in!
All engineering students start out in first year engineering and then transition to their major. There may be some confusion because some students apply to CS in the College of Science which is direct admit to the major.
It is more competitive in RD but they accepted a good number of students last cycle and I expect this year to be the same.
