Thanks @co_runner for answering my question. So, the admission decision letter does NOT have to state the major-name at all? That’s a bit surprising for me!
Cool. We have to wait until March though?
My daughter was accepted! Daniels school of business, Marketing (for now), GPA 4.3W/3.98UW, SAT 1480, 7APs, OOS. Thankful to have yet another great option!
Just because you were accepted doesn’t mean it’s a safety school!
All engineering students at Purdue are accepted into FYE (first year engineering). They declare the specific type of engineering towards the end of freshman year.
I believe so although the admissions site says RD is technically rolling. I believe last cycle they released in March.
OOS son accepted. Daniels Finance (upper division)! 4.1 GPA, 1390 SAT and all the other good stuff!!!
Unfortunately your comments are often pretty tone deaf since many here will be deferred or not offered admission. Purdue is full of many nice people so think of that as you decide where to attend and make sure you choose the “right fit” if you understand what I’m saying.
If we did not hear about scholarships in our acceptance letter, is there any chance of receiving scholarships later?
OOS - FYE major
4.0 UW/4.78 W (nothing but all A+ on his transcript with very high rigor)
1570 SAT (one sitting)
NMF
All 5 scores on AP all AP exams taken (8 taken thru junior year)
For those wondering about portal astrology - only had cancel application and parent student forms, no LOCI.
I don’t believe so.
Did anyone receive an email informing them decisions have been posted? My son is not home at the moment and I think it would be best if he was home before I told him decisions are available.
Engineering schools tend to come in two flavors. Some admit direct to a specific major (like GaTech), so the letter says the specific major. Other schools admit into the engineering college as “first year” engineers (like Purdue) without a specific major, so it just says FYE in the acceptance. At the end of Freshman year in FYE at Purdue, if all qualifications are met, then you transition into a particular major like CE, AAE, ME, etc
No email, but that sometimes comes out a bit later if you don’t check.
Hi all , my daughter applied as EA did not receive any email on decision nor in applicant portal no updates , we are oos
It was mentioned in this thread at 5pm
Is it released early ?
Was your FAFSA in?
Thanks!
Not my goal to be tone deaf and i’m sorry for those who didn’t get it. Just stating that it can be a safety for certain majors.
Need based aid will be released later. Merit scholarships don’t depend on FASFA for Purdue.
They are two different majors in two different schools
