Purdue Early Action for Fall 2024 Admission

Ahhh, well I just revisited the honors college situation with D24, she was going to be on senior retreat during the due date and just felt too rushed before she left to do the essays for it to the level of quality needed so she had to select not interested. So upset about it…I guess one misstep along this journey was to be expected but man this was a big one.

Is cancelling your application the same as turning down your admission offer or do I need to go in to the main website to decline it.

Similar stats, similar outcome… very puzzled and disappointed. Could have been the recommendations or essays.

I too am living this dream w/D24 - trying to find the right balance of “it’s your path” and “really??” :joy:. Especially with my pocketbook on the line too . PS - proud mom of a class of 26 Hokie!

It could have been a possible yield protect maybe? Don’t know if Purdue does that.

Sadly, I found out if it’s not spelled out in the offer letter there’s no merit. :disappointed:

I believe it is the same. Good luck next year, where are you headed?

I will say it would have been nice for Purdue to throw a little merit at kids who got into Honors, even as a token gesture. But in the big picture it’s hard to complain when you’ve been accepted in such a competitive pool.

My son attends one of the top 20 private schools in the country. He has a 4.3 unweighted GPA. SAT 1550 (perfect math). He’s president of the school, varsity football, athlete, recruited, one of the top, junior billiards players in the country with multiple national and world titles. How on earth could he have been deferred from Purdue? We are gob smacked.

Seriously don’t even know what to do at this point
