UGA most likely unless I get into UF or a full, or near full ride, scolarship which is why I left my other applications, like here at Purdue, open.

I canāt believe I got in??? And they gave me 10k per year presidential scholarship thing??? OOS 34 act ( eng 36 reading 36 math 28 sci 34) but 3.17 gpa weighted which has resulted in me getting rejected from a lot of worse colleges as well as less money from near everywhere. I guess global studies (my major) isnt what Purdue is known for, but I still didnāt except at all to get into Purdue, it definitely just jumped highhhh up my list of places I may go

Itās yield protection because they donāt think he will actually accept admission. They think he has applied to lots of other high academic schools and that he will likely accept there instead of here, so they defer. If Purdue is still a top choice, then do the LOCI to show continued interest. College admissions has become a business about numbers now.

Agree. A strongly written LOCI (along with maybe an email to reiterate interest a month or so before decision release) should nearly gurantee admission.

how long do you have to write a LOCI after getting deferred?

Not saying this was true in this case, but sometimes that sense of how can you not accept me seeps into an application or it gives off the whiff of someone with high stats trying to collect admits for the sake of collecting, not because Purdue is for them. Deferred is not denied. clear any possible doubt if Purdue is the goal. This is an inexact process where the numbers donāt work. They know a lot of kids who got a yes today will tell Purdue no. They told your student theyāre interested but not sure yet

i got in for EE but in the āPurdue University in Indianapolisā
does this mean I was rejected from WLā¦if so, why couldnāt they just have mentioned that in the letter, a lot of other people are wondering this too

Disagree. Take your time to craft a LOCI. this is not the weekend to bang something out when you are gob smacked.

I donāt know. Submitting the LOCI really early might show interest in itself. But it does obviously need to be well written first and formost. But this three day weekend is more than enough time to do it well.

Get the fall semester dual credit grades submitted along with updated letter from school reiterating Purdue is 1st choice. Your student can also do a LOCI. Donāt just cross fingers and wait. Your student is still in the mix.

Thank you. I appreciate your reply. It definitely was in his possibility list of going there but not now I guess.
Letters Iāve seen say you have been considered for all the locations and programs youāve expressed interest in, so if they gave you Indy, you asked to be considered for Indy and/or WL and were not accepted at WL.
