That is HUGE.
Another article said they are keeping the IUPUI staff from those departments, so they are not starting with nothing. I would expect them to bring the curriculum in line with West Lafayette too.

Holy moly! This is amazing! My nephew went to Purdue Lafayette. He had amazing academic grades but struggled getting internships despite how hard he tried. My brother-in-law ended up asking a friend who helped him land an aerospace engineering internship but it was because of someone they knew. Guaranteed internships from the school is phenomenal! My son loved that school too bad it was not in the radius of his requirement for driving distance for us.
Best of luck to your cadet! CAP has been a wonderful experience for us! I suspect his deferral is because his DE grades in Calc 1 & 2 junior yr were not stellar. We just submitted his DE Calc 3, Physics 2 and Bio grades with his LOCI so fingers crossed. He made it clear in his LOCI that rocketry is his passion and Purdue is his first choice.
How soon anyone can hear after submitting new grades and LOCI?
Last cycle it wasnāt until mid March.
Do you know what are the chances of getting in after being Deferred?
My OOS student got accepted to FYE, received Honors and Presidential scholarship of $10K.
Iām sorry I donāt. I havenāt seen those numbers released by Purdue and deferring EA students is relatively new. In the past most students were accepted or rejected.
Thank you
when you say calc 1,2 and 3⦠do you mean AP Calc or just something entirely different
My guess is Dual Enrollment . . . taken through a college.
After taking AP Calc BC junior year, our high school curriculum goes to dual enrollment with a college, and is noted as Calc 3 DiffEQ and Calc 3 Linear Algebra for the next two semesters.
Any insight on how soon we need to apply for housing? Correct me if Iām wrong, the steps are 1) accept offer 2) sign housing contract 3) apply for an LLC?
We arenāt able to visit until April, and Iām scared to wait that long.
As long as you deposit by April 15 it is all the same lottery. Thereās no advantage to depositing earlier. It is not first come, first served. That said, if you have an interest in a learning community, apply early. Just look up āPurdue learning communitiesā on the university website and there should be an application link there.
Thank you for this. But I am confused! If itās a lottery then why do you need to apply early to the LLC? TIA!
Because they only accept a certain number to each LLC (I assume - this is what happens at other schools). Once you are in an LLC, your room assignment is random/lottery.
Hi, this is a question about FYE. I understand all students get into FYE, but they indicate an area of interest, for example, I indicated biomedical engg in my application . If after first year, when choosing majors, I have the required GPA, will I be allowed to choose another field of engineering, say Electrical should I want to? Does indicating an area of interest in our application limit our options? Thanks
You can choose whatever field of engineering youād like, regardless of what you expressed in your application. Purdue knows that many students change their minds after some exposure. IMO, thatās the beauty of FYE.
They arenāt the same thing. The LLCs each have a limited number of students able to participate. Hypothetical example: the LLC may represent 200 students on one floor of a 800 bed dorm building. If you get accepted to the LLC, youāll live with that group. Your bed will still be assigned by lottery, but the computer will place you with your LLC group. You donāt need to be in an LLC to live in a dorm. Incoming freshmen are guaranteed a bed whether in an LLC or not. It is sometimes just nice knowing you might be on a floor where everyone shares a common interest (roughly).
On the form to change your application major, thereās a writing section that allows up to 1000 words to explain why you want to change your major. Does anybody familiar with this process know if I should write out and edit this as I would my other college application essays, or if they arenāt necessarily looking for a whole formal essay?
